Best Cooking Magazines
Top Cooking Magazine Subscriptions
I love cooking as it is a very relaxing as well as rewarding hobby. I enjoy listening to music and having a glass of wine or beer when I cook - it's like a ritual for me. Normally I'm not very adventurous at all, but I make an exception when it comes to food: I often try new recipes to surprise and entertain my friends and family. My favorite cuisine is Italian, but I am also a big fan of Indian and Middle Eastern foods. And I have a thing for desserts (who doesn't?) Cakes, pies, ice creams, chocolates...
When I go to libraries I always collect old issues of food magazines as well as regional cook books like Hawaiian, Oriental, Mexican, Greek, Jewish - you name it. These help me experiment and expand my culinary horizons. After years of collecting and subscribing, I wanted to share some of my favorites here on this page. Feel free to leave me a comment about your favorite magazines, too.

Lifestyle or Recipes?
Most magazines contain both, in different proportions
Some readers only want to learn new, interesting recipes and skip over the rest of the content. Others look forward to articles on the world's cuisines, famous chefs, and healthy living. Most magazines listed here contain a bit of both. If you're really only looking for recipes and cooking tips, then I believe is your best bet. It contains no advertising and is very accessible even if you're a beginner cook. It is a great choice if you aren't interested in lifestyle and celebrity articles and just want the down-to-earth stuff, so to speak. Cook's Illustrated
Personally I also enjoy finding out about the latest trends in beer and wine, the newest innovations in food preparation, and different cuisines of the world. If you're like me then you will probably enjoy the content of the other magazines listed on the page above. It's always interesting to learn new things and find out what people eat around the world.
Easy Cooking Instructions
Learn useful food preparation techniques from the pros
YouTube is a surprisingly good place to learn more about cooking. Watching people actually make the food can be a lot more helpful than reading dry instructions from a cookbook. The following video, for example, will help you learn how to cook a great steak.
