(I grill this recipe even though it was meant to be fried in a skillet!!)!

Love hamburgers? I do - and I have tried mysticmama's recipe and highly recommend it for the BBQ grill or a skillet on the stove.

Who do you think has the best burger recipe? Bet it is not as good as mysticmama's. If you think it is, then convince me!

Enter the web address (there is a chance for you to do that below) for your choice for the best hamburger patties recipe or vote for the one that you KNOW is the best one! Put your review of your favorite recipe in the guest book at the bottom of the page. Then get your friends to come and vote. Come on! I dare you to disagree with my choice for the best recipe for hamburger patties here in our neighborhood of the web.

Go mysticmama, go!

(Yummy images of my "mysticmama hamburger patty" on this page were taken by me. I like my burger grilled and served on an English muffin with lettuce, tomato and plenty of mayo. Mysticmama likes to cook her's in a skillet. It does not matter how one cooks this burger, it is still the best hamburger recipe!)

If there was a prize for the winner, it might be this:

Don't over work your hamburger pattie!

One opinion is a constant among chefs: Do NOT over work your hamburger meat!" One tool that will help is a hamburger press. A press will also help you make the patties all the same size.

Read All about Burgers: - There is a book about almost everything on Amazon!

Even though I have dozens of cookbooks, I am always searching for new ones. Oh, there is a book with burger history on Amazon, too.

In the "inside view" of the first book, I noticed that Alabama is not included for some reason. If in the "Heart of Dixie" you can find great burgers at Dreamland BBQ, Hamburger Heaven, Chez FonFon (In Five Points South in Birmingham), The Boot (In The Preserve in Hoover) and Jim and Nick's. All of these restaurants are in Birmingham and a few have locations across the state.

In the southeastern USA one can find a good burger joint in almost every town. My favorite burger is not in a joint, however. It is in a restaurant named Chez Fon Fon.

My burger recipe is not for the patties themselves, but for the fixin's. I created the Bleu Monday while working as a manager at a Carl's Jr. restaurant, and just loved it! You can try your pattie recipe with my Bleu Monday burger at

For me, it is mostly about the toppings. Jalapeno peppers, mushrooms, and a slice of jack, all cooked on top on low. Oh, and the burger *must* be cooked by coal. I mean, really, gas is not barbecue!

Thanks for adding my burger recipe - I'm obviously biased and think mine is the best *grin* - but I will have to try all the others - they all look great...I'm gonna put on about 100lbs!

The best hamburger, in my opinion, has to be a grilled barbecued beef burger! They all sound simply delicious, though. Five stars.

Thanks for including my lens in this debate - of sorts. We have a couple of packs of ground Venison that a friend gave us recently, now I have burgers in mind for that lean, delicious meat.

Are we going to have a grill off here on Squidoo? If I can get an ice pick and a shovel, maybe I can get to mine on the back deck and grill some up. Great idea for a debate (and thanks for the mention!).
