What Are The Best Restaurants In Regina?

Updated on October 28, 2015

Where's the best place to eat when in Regina, Saskatchewan?

I bet you've had this happen; "honey, where do you want to eat?" "I don't know, you decide" and then a forty-five minute fight ensues because neither of you is willing to pull the trigger on the best place to eat! Well friends, I'm here to help. I've put together this page on my top five favourite restaurants in Regina. Yes you may disagree, however, this is MY list of MY top five. Not yours. So if you do disagree I'd love it if you never told me about your crazy beliefs. But on the other hand if you agree with me and love some of the establishments, do let me know in the comments below.

Regina is cluttered with restaurants now, you can eat out for an entire year and still never dine at the same place twice. What is it about Regina that people just love to eat out? I can't figure it out, so I'll go out for supper tonight to discuss!

On a more serious note, Leopold's and Victoria's has taken the "Pub" scene by storm. They aren't chain pub so they are a little different, a little more Saskatchewan. I love it! They remind me of Robson Street in Vancouver, just bar after bar after dive bar. It's amazing! On a given night you can go to 5 different places and experience 5 different vibes. I think most people prefer that to less bars but bigger bars.

Now it's your turn, go on and find out where you should be dining tonight.

Bon Appetite!!

Earls Regina

Location: East and South Regina

(Update! They took away the lime ice, you know, the best part of ordering a beer there? I couldn't believe it when I heard it. "I'm sorry sir, we have discontinued the lime ice" you could hear my heart break.)

Ah, one of my all time favs, Earls. I've fallen in love with the staff, they completely get customer service. To the point that sometimes (at the East location) I'll walk in and before I find a seat they have my drink in my hand. That is amazing service. I don't get that kind of service anywhere else in Regina.

The food isn't the greatest but they do allow for modifications. My favourite meal is the Bacon and Cheddar burger with double the tomato and double the pickle served with a Caeser Salad with diced tomato's on top. Simply amazing. Earls does a remarkable job at pleasing the customer. They want you to have a great time there, they want you to enjoy yourself more than most places, that's why they give you a chocolate chip cookie for desert if you go for lunch. No you don't pay for it so it's an added benefit that you're going to want to tell your friends about when you head back to the office.

The Best Part?

The Earls Bacon and Cheddar Burger (double pickle, double tomato)

Cookies at lunch time

Sticky Toffee Pudding

Caser Salad with diced tomatoes

Best pint in Regina - the Iceberg (Albino Rhino with Lime Ice)

Ngoc Van

The best Vietnamese food in Regina

I probably go to Gnoc van at least once a week. The vermicelli bowl with spring roll and broiled pork is my favourite meal, right now. I love it. Yup fish sauce too. Plus some red chilli sauce, hoisin and you got yourself the best meal money can buy. Speaking of money, this might be your cheapest lunch you've gone for in a long time. You should offer to take the boss out for lunch, you can pay!

The War Won Ton soup is some of the best I've ever tried. They do it quite well. The freshrolls are great, usually you get a couple of those wrapped up to take home.

They give healthy portions of sprouts with your meal as well, something you can tell if a place is trying to cheap out on, not giving you enough sprouts.

All in all if you want a great Vietnamese meal to eat in or take out try Ngoc Van in Regina, it is simply delicious!

The Best Part?

Number 91 (Vermicelli, Spring roll and pork)

Sake

Japanese and Korean Cuisine in Regina

(Update! Under new ownership the Sushi is not nearly as good I'm unhappy to report. There aren't many god Sushi restaurants left in Regina, if you read this feel free to set up your establishment, I can guarantee one faithful customer!)

I've never liked All-you-can-eat sushi restaurants, you eat too much sushi that's not meant to be savoured, it's meant to be devoured. But Sake in Regina puts quality over quantity. Their Dynamite roll is delicious as well as the shrimp special roll, rainbow roll, gyoza, tempura, japache, and yup even the Miso soup. They have an amazing kitchen, the consistency of the rolls, the taste in the sauces, it's always about the little things when it comes to sushi restaurants.

The Best Part?

Miso soup

Shrimp special roll

Rainbow roll

And the Karaoke they have upstairs. Yup, you read correctly. They have Karaoke up stairs, and if you buy two drinks per person an hour the Karaoke is free! If this isn't your new favourite restaurant I don't think you're human.

Rock Creek Tap & Grill

Rock Creek Tap & Grill

A unique locally owned an operated restaurant in Regina

Rock Creek is a locally owned establishment. Recently they opened a new one in the north end of Regina, in the Normanview crossing. The first Rock Creek though (the one I grew up with) opened in East Regina. Probably my favourite menu in town. A lot of diverse options but always so incredibly flavourful and filling meals.

They are famous for their burgers, the black and blue being the most famous one. They also have the great Caeser salad I've ever ordered. It's a char-broiled salad, they give you a head of lettuce drizzled with dressing, croutons, bacon bits and parmesan cheese. Seriously, the best salad I've ever had. It's a reason to go all on it's own.

The Black and Blue Burger

The Club Sandwich

Charbroiled Caeser Salad

Beer Bros Regina

Beer Bros

An amazing pub and eatery in the heart of Regina

Beer Bros is my kind of restaurant, everything has the theme of beer. I for one love that.

The staff is extremely knowledgeable, they have like 100 beers on tap (an exaggeration) but they do have my favourite beer on tap, Steam Whistle Pilsner.

The location can be difficult to get to, well if you're completely lazy. But Beer Bros is known for their private rooms and catering to your next special event.

They have an amazing chop salad, the seafood mac and cheese is mouth watering and the "Beerogies and Sausage" have to be my favourite.

The perfect place for a date night, a corporate lunch or if you really, really, really like beer, you have to try Beer Bros in Regina.
