The Best Rice Cooker For Preparing Fast Meals In Your Kitchen

Updated on June 5, 2014

Home Cooking the Easy Way

I love my rice cooker and I know you will too if you give it a try. I have a Zojirushi which I have to say is the best one ever made. I use mine every chance I get. It out performs the old one I had, the rice comes out perfect every time I make it. I like to use it for everyday cooking and discovered I could cook lots of other foods in it too.

I love to make homemade sushi and the sticky grain cooks as well as the traditional long grain varieties. Not only does it cook but it keeps it warm for hours. On days I need to take the kids to soccer practice I just place it in the cooker and turn it on and when I get home with the kids it ready to eat. Since it stays warm I find that I can make it and then go outside and barbeque without having to worry about watching the pot for it to cook.

I also use boxed foods like Zatarains or I steam vegetables and they are perfectly cooked. It is amazing how one little appliance can change the way you cook your meals. It doesn't matter which model you choose they all do a great job with a task that used to take a lot of planning.

I have been thinking about getting a rice cooker. I still do it the old fashioned way at the moment, which is OK, but I love the thought of just being able to cook it and leave it until you are ready with no harm done.

Hi I just stopped by because I recognized the image of our rice cooker. I don't know which Zojirushi we use, but it's induction heated and has a GABA brown Rice setting, which is simply the BEST tasting way to cook plain brown rice! It seems to sprout each of the gains of rice - and they taste better as leftovers instead of getting dry/hard overnight in the fridge. Nice lens :)

I use a smaller rice cooker, and I love it. I recommend one for anyone who cooks rice.
