Black Coffee Review
Welcome to "Black Coffee Review", a Squidoo Lens about coffee without the additives like sugar, cream, mocha, etc...!
We like our coffee in its regular not unleaded form. Straight black and piping hot keeps us happy.
Our intent is to try coffees offered by restaurants, fast food chains, and specialty coffee houses and post our thoughts about them.
That said, we want to invite others to join us on our quest to taste different black coffees and rate them using a simple scale: "Good", "It'll Do", and "Bad".
- A "Good" cup of coffee tastes freshly brewed and has no bitter aftertaste.
- "It'll Do" satisfies the coffee urge but just does not make the grade of a "Good" cup of coffee.
- And, a "Bad" cup of coffee is stale with an aftertaste that requires another beverage to wash it away.
Check us out from time to time, and please feel free to add to the "Black Coffee List". We look forward to your inputs!
Latest Coffee of Choice
We have found a contender to the Kauai Coffee Company's coffee blends (Single Estate Bold and Medium Roast). Both make great tasting cups of black coffee but we are liking the offering from Gevalia Kaffe of Sweden!
Gevalia Kaffe has a Traditional Roast in a medium blend that makes a great tasting cup of black coffee that equals (some of us say it is even better) Kauai's Single Estate Blends!
Give it a taste test and do let us know if you agree!

Bought a new coffee maker. Last one had a leak in the reservoir, so it was time to replace it.
We used to have a fancy coffee, cappuccino, and espresso maker. But, it broke when a thunderstorm caused power outages in our area which ended up shorting the coffee, cappuccino, and espresso maker!
Since then, we decided to buy low end coffee makers that brew 12 cups and have an automatic shut off. Then, we hope they last 2+ years.
The coffee maker that we replaced satisfied the requirements and lasted just over 2 years! So, this round we purchased a Mr Coffee Maker for about $25. It brews 12 cups and has an automatic shut off.
Now let's see if it lasts 2+ years!
Another One We Liked... - Port Aransas, Texas Souvenier Shop
Another one we liked while on the road. This one comes from Port Aransas, Texas. It is a coffee cup offered by a souvenier shop that suggests one way to cut back on coffee. Not sure why one would do so, but regardless this suggestion is okay from our view!
Liked This One.... - "Brewed Awakenings" Groesbeck, TX
While on the road, stopped at a Sandwich Shop in Groesbeck, Texas for a quick cup of java. Noticed this sign on the wall. Like it!
