Bowl Game Football Chili

Updated on February 10, 2016

January Football, February Super Bowl and than Saved by March Madness

Not to long ago January was the favorite month for football fans.

Both college and Pro.

You had New Years Day where you would watch all of the of the teams that you never got to see during the regular season battling it out at wonderful stadiums.

It would start in the morning with the parades. Then the Bowl games would begin. It would be an all day marathon that would go into the late hours of the night.

Then the NFL Professional Playoff weekends. Which would lead up to the Super Bowl. This all use to take place in January.

Now we have college bowl games from mid December until the first week of the year. The Super Bowl is now in February which makes it harder to get through this long winter month. Even though I still like the games and I'm still a fan and they know that, like others, I will put up with a lot of things to watch my favorite game and that is football.

Gameday Chili

1 pound lean ground beef *

1 pound ground turkey meat

1 pound of beef stew meat

2 Tablespoons Oil

1 Large Yellow Onion (Diced)

1 Medium Red Onion (Diced)

1 Green Bell pepper (Diced)

1 Red Bell Pepper (Diced)

1 Yellow Bell Pepper (Diced)

1 48 oz can of Red Kidney Beans

24 oz can of stewed tomatoes (diced) do not drain

28 oz can of heavy tomato puree

2 - 1 oz packages of Chili Mix (brand of your choosing)

2 pound bag of Shredded Cheese (What ever you like) (condiments)

In a large stew or bean pot combine meat, oil and 1/2 of yellow onions (brown meat). Drain excess fat.

Add remaining ingredients (except for cheese and remaining yellow onion). Add enough water to cover all ingredients but not so much you will dilute the flavor.

Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for approximately 1 hour. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Serve topped with cheese and remaining onion or other toppings you may enjoy.(sour cream ect.)

To make Low Carb. Do not use the beans.

*(optional if you are a Sportsman you can substitute Elk, Venison, Bear or other wild game for the meat)

Wings wings and more wings

I have never had a bad hot wing, just some that were better then others.

I really like hot wings. I really don't care what flavor, they are all good.

Most people have their own recipes so I will not go into that. Even if you just look on the back of any hot sauce bottle and find one just as good as the rest.

The one thing that I want to try and figure out is if anyone has a recipe for turkey wings.

I had a idea about ten years ago of making them and never followed through. Maybe in the near future I will.

Let me know if you have or know someone who has something like this.
