Brandy Alexander - A Drink And More
Brandy Alexander -- It Started With A Cocktail
A Brandy Alexander was the cocktail to order back in the 1960s. It was somewhat a "ladies drink" but there were men who enjoyed it as well. I can remember my parents drinking these. My Dad even made his own Creme De Cacoa which is one of the main ingredients
If you watch the television show "Mad Men" you will see the men enjoying a Brandy Alexander. This is very appropriate as the series is set in the 1960s.
It is a very smooth drink (in my opinion) in much the same way as a black Russian or just plain Bailey's Irish Cream.
Simple to make. Creamy and delicious.
- 1 oz Creme de Cacao
- 1 oz Half and Half
- 1 oz Brandy
- Put the first 3 ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake a little to mix and chill. Strain out ice and pour liquid in cocktail glass. Sprinkle nutmeg on top. (I kind of like a little blob of whipped creme on top too).
