I love to cook and try new foods and recipes. I try to do my best to incorporate healthy foods, but sometimes I need a little comfort food.

Brandy Alexander -- It Started With A Cocktail

A Brandy Alexander was the cocktail to order back in the 1960s. It was somewhat a "ladies drink" but there were men who enjoyed it as well. I can remember my parents drinking these. My Dad even made his own Creme De Cacoa which is one of the main ingredients

If you watch the television show "Mad Men" you will see the men enjoying a Brandy Alexander. This is very appropriate as the series is set in the 1960s.

It is a very smooth drink (in my opinion) in much the same way as a black Russian or just plain Bailey's Irish Cream.

No bartender will make this. They won't even stock the nutmeg.

The restaurants are hung up on mojitos and such.

And to think that one of the Beatles got loaded on these at the Troubadour!

Is it wrong to want a drink at 10:30 in the morning? I love your lenses that remind my of the drinks that were popular when I was young.
