How to Make Cake Balls on a Stick - Recipes & Directions

Updated on November 4, 2014

Cake Balls on a Stick!

It's easy to make cake balls on a stick... You can use doughnut holes or crumbled cake as your cake base. If you use crumbled cake, you will also need frosting to mix with the cake, and candy melts and lollipop sticks. That's about it!

Cake balls on a stick are better known as "Cake Pops" and they are fun to decorate! You can put sprinkles on them, or turn them into faces or character heads on a stick. They are popular for weddings and birthday parties. Kids love them!

On this page, you will find directions on how to make them, as well as cake pop recipes!

Using a BabyCakes Cake Pop Maker is another way to make a cake pops! Rather than crumbling cake and adding frosting to it to make balls, you use the machine to make the cake in the form of a ball! It has positive reviews and I think it might make cake balls that aren't quite as sweet, which might be a good thing! It comes with recipes, or you can just do your own thing.

Unfortunately, this has really bad reviews. You actually don't need a special pan or special gadget to make cake pops. Traditional cake pops are made from crumbling a cake (so you just need a cake pan) and adding frosting to it and rolling up balls.

However, some people like this cake pops maker, which may make less sweet cake pops as you don't have to mix frosting into the balls.
