Which Cheese Puffs are the best?

Updated on May 26, 2013

Looking for cheese puffs that are a cut above the rest?

I started buying cheese puffs for my husband, who has dental problems and needs easy to chew foods... Little did I know that I would love them too! So I decided I just had to make a page about cheese puffs. As I'm sure you might have guessed by now, they are an absolutely delicious salty and cheesy snack. Cheese puffs are one of the few types of snack foods that are easy-to-chew. They are light and fluffy, and ideally melt in your mouth!

Cheese puffs are loved by kids and adults... And I think they are the best easy-to-chew salty snack. They are a great alternative to chips, and while I'm open to other salty melt-in-your mouth snacks, all I've found so far are cheese puffs and their cousins, cheese balls.

This page has reviews of the cheese puffs I've tried. If you have a brand of cheese puffs that I haven't reviewed yet, contact me, and I'll review them if you send me a sample bag. Note, that I'm only interested in puffy cheese puffs... Not crunchy ones!

Intense Flavor, Melt in your Mouth Satisfaction!

Review:

These are my favorite! They quickly dissolve in your mouth and release a burst of intense cheese flavor. The packaging says that they are made with a blend of cheddar and romano flavor. As an extra plus, they don't stick to your teeth.

Where you can buy it:

I found it at Franz Bakery Outlet in Washington State.

Price:

About $3.50

Review of Cheetos Cheese Puffs

Brand name Puffs from Frito Lay

My regular supermarket (Safeway) only sells one brand of puffs, and that's the Cheetos brand. These puffs are absolutely delicious. They are easy to eat, and I imagine that they're a favorite snack food among toddlers and little kids.

Look for these puffs next to the "Crunchy" Cheetos.... I wish Cheetos made a spicy version of these delicious puffs.. But alas, all the jalapeno and flaming hot cheetos are crunchy. Don't get me wrong, crunchy taste great, but they're difficult to eat if you have few or no teeth, or are recovering from dental work, etc.

Review: Market Pantry Cheddar Cheese Balls

It was fun to walk out of Target with this huge container, but then it all went downhill...

I bought this big container of cheese balls for $4.99. I must say that walking across the parking lot with such a big plastic container of yellow treats was thrilling. I imagined that people thought that I was probably a teacher who would give these out in school (if they still allow that these days)... or that I was planning a birthday party or something. In truth, my husband and I planned to eat all of them!

My husband enjoyed the first few handfuls... Maybe it was anticipation exciting his tastebuds. Me, I was not impressed by the taste from the getgo.

The next day he tells me that they are icky, and I throw them in the garbage. In retrospect, I should have returned them and bought some Cheetos. Anyway, this is just my opinion. Maybe I got a stale batch or something, so if you desire, give them a try yourself... You may have to walk to the very back of Target to find them. They were on the last isle next to the school lunch boxes, and only one isle away from the heavy containers of laundry detergent.

You should add a video of Cartman from South Park saying how he likes cheesy poofs.
