Cheese Souffle - An easy and Simple recipe

One off my favorite Side Dishes for dinner or lunch is a delicious Cheese Souffle. Although the name of the dish may sound a little too French and complicated this is one of my favorites recipes to make as it is simple and the results are truly delicious. Another great idea is to modify the recipe a little by introducing other elements to the Cheese souffle such as Spinach or Chayote Squash. In this article I will share the recipe with you and I will also give you step by step instructions on how to prepare this yummy side dish. All courtesy of my adorable Grandma:) Hope you enjoy and get a chance to try it out. If so please do not forget to share as I do want some!

In Progress.

Parmesan Souffle
Parmesan Souffle

Ingredients

1 Tablespoon of Butter

1 Cup of milk

3 Eggs ( Separate them into egg white from the yolk)

1 Small onion cut in little pieces

10 tablespoons of graded parmesan

1 Teaspoon of Salt and pepper

That is all the ingredients necessary for the Cheese ONLY Souffle. If you would like to diversify and add Spinach or Chayote squash you can decrease the quantity of cheese from 10 tablespoon to 5 tablespoons and substitute the other half a cup of cooked spinach or half a cup of cooked and smashed Chayote squash.

Step by Step Preparation

In a medium pan and low heat mix the onions, the butter, the yolks, the cheese (add the spinach if you would like) and the milk until you form a consistent base cream. On another container you make sure to beat the egg whites really well so they do not slide from the container and once the cream cool down a little you can drop the cream on the top of the egg white and with a fork you gently mix them together. You want to mix the egg beaten egg white with the cream very slowly so you do not remove the air from the egg whites and it is ok to leave few chunchs of egg whites in the mixtures as in the oven they will continue to mix. You can pre-heat the over at 300 to 350 degrees and make sure to butter the soufle containers that you would like to use as well. you can use individual dish or a medium tray to bake the souffle. the results are truly amazing and the Soufle is ready as soon as the top of the dish is golden! Just like the picture:)
