Coffee-Chocolate Coffee Beans 3 Recipes

Updated on June 24, 2015

Chocolate What Could Be Better?

Chocolate Coffee Beans 3 Recipes. Chocolate and coffee two of my favorite foods and I just love chocolate coffee beans. I have been experimenting with some new recipes and found a few I think you might like. First off I love chocolate covered coffee beans but since we have been renovating our "new" old house, they just don't seem to be in the budget right now. So after many experiment I have found a formula I think you might enjoy as much as I do.

First off I need to explain that the coffee bean is really the secret to a good recipe. First, you need to decide which type of coffee bean you like the best. I have discovered if you go to a coffee shop that sell coffee by the pound, you are allowed to taste test the beans before bringing it home. I made some bad choices the first few times I brought home coffee for my experimenting. Don't make the same mistake, taste it before bringing it home. My biggest mistake was orange flavored coffee beans, I couldn't get the taste of the orange to compliment any of my chocolate.

Coffee and chocolate has long been a favorite of coffee lovers. The combination of the rich coffee beans and the flavor of chocolate. I like dark roast coffee beans for my cake, it brings out the flavor and creates a richness all of it's own. The chocolate I choose is also rich, a nice devils food chocolate cake mix works perfectly for this recipe, the brand is up to you. The smell of the two while mixing the rich coffee bean flavor with the chocolate will make your mouth water before you even begin baking it.

Chocolate Recipe - THE RECIPE

Once the beans are cooled they will look like this

3 tablespoons cocoa powder

1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

1 cup whole coffee beans (dark roast is perfect)

Combine cocoa powder and chocolate chips in a double boiler and heat until melted. Remove from heat and pour coffee beans in the mixture and stir until all of the beans are coated with chocolate. Turn out on to a sheet of parchment or wax paper. Make sure that each bean has space to cool, do not allow them to touch one another. When cool, enjoy.

I find that these store well in a sealed container or a zip lock bag. That is if they last that long.
