Chocolate Custard Is My Favorite Decadent Indulgence! Could It Be Yours?

There is nothing that says "comfort food" to me like hot custard or pudding right off the stove! As I lift each spoonful, allowing it to cool just a bit, I savor the aroma that only hot chocolate wonderfulness can emit! If there were a chocolate custard air freshener out there, I'd buy it!

The nice thing about the chocolate custard recipes I'll feature here is that they are easy, stove-top recipes that take little time to make and only mess up one pan and your serving bowls! No difficult double-boiler or water bath recipes here!

I'll share the top five of my favorite recipes for chocolate custard that I've found online for you.

So get ready to savor that chocolate wickedness!

Pyrex Bakeware Custard Cups, 10-Ounce, Set of 4
Pyrex Bakeware Custard Cups, 10-Ounce, Set of 4

My all-time favorite custard cups, because they have that Pyrex durability! I enjoy the clear glass appearance too.

Easier Cleanup!

If you have stuck-on custard in your pan, try this! Fill the pan 2/3 full of water. Add 1/4 cup of baking soda, stir to dissolve. Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer for about 20 minutes on low heat. Allow to cool then scrub right into that pan of water. All the residue should come right off!

Libbey 6.25-Ounce Small Bowls with Plastic Lids, 16-Piece Set

I do like these cups because they feature the snap-on lids. Talk about no-hassle refrigerator or take-along storage! And best of all this set has 8 bowls!! That's a real value in my book.

      Hot with cream (not whipped)

I'm going to go with hot, but I love them both. And you can have both via custard cups. One now and more later!

Honestly... both! ;) I do love it freshly made, though.

Chilled, I love the cold custards

Love both. What to say? Will pick a side... but how can you say which is best? They are both outrageous.

I am all for warm, custards and puddings, especially in the winter. An old family favorite is to put a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a bowl of hot custard. Works nicely!
