What's Cooking in My Kitchen?

Updated on March 10, 2014

Come into my kitchen and share some recipes

I'm happy to spend time in my kitchen.

I have good appliances, a trusty gas cooker, sharp knives and lots of light. I keep my pantry stocked with the basics and buy my fresh foods from Queen Victoria Market.

The fish is straight from the sea on Tuesdays at the Queen Vic, the same time as the cheeses are flown in from King Island and Tasmania. Truckloads of vegetables always arrive from the Latrobe Valley on Thursdays.

With fresh food easily accessible and the Market a short bus trip away, it would be a crime not to enjoy cooking. All I need is a maid to keep my kitchen clean.

Yes. I enjoy cooking, there's no two ways about it. After a very shaky start as a young wife I've learned by trial and error (lots of errors) to turn out a meal that people are happy to eat. I really like to see a plate licked clean. Well, perhaps not licked, but a plate that doesn't have one thing left on it.
