Here's What We Think About Choosing Between a Cupcake and a Cookie

By now we are sure that you have heard how trendy cupcakes have become but have you heard the recent rumour that cookies are making inroads into the territory that cupcakes are currently holding? That cookies may become the new cupcakes?

What do you think? Which is better? A delicious vanilla vanilla cupcake (yes that's two vanillas) or a just-out-of-the-oven, ooey gooey chocolate chip cookie? A rich double chocolate cupcake or a chewy fudge cookie? That brings us back to our basic question...which is better a cupcake or a cookie?

What do we think? Well, there's no question in our minds that CUPCAKES rule. They are a decadent treat and cookies are just so, well, everyday. That's not to say that we don't LOVE cookies, because we do but they are, in our minds, well, a bit ORDINARY.

What do you think? We thought it would be fun to hear what YOU have to say. Whether it is cookies or cupcakes that you love, we want to hear what you have to say!

Cookies Are The New Cupcakes...What Do YOU Think?

It's Your Turn! What Do You Think? Are Cupcakes Better Than Cookies?

The choices? Well, whatever cupcake you like be it a double chocolate cupcake, a marvelous maple syrup cupcake, a vanilla vanilla or even a lemon meringue cupcake versus a fresh-from-the-oven, ooey gooey chocolate chip cookie, an mmmmm good M&M Cookie, a spicy ginger cookie or whatever cookie comes first in your mind...

So, what do you think? Are cupcakes better than cookies?

Yes, you're right! Cupcakes definitely take the cake!

I've never been known to turn down a cookie but give me a choice and I'll pick the cupcake first.

Actually, I will take either one but I do love a Devils Food Cupcake with Chocolate icing. Yummy.

Cupcakes are way better than cookies! Cookies just don't have enough frosting. :)

    No way, Monkeybrain! Cookies rule!

I love cookies. I also am a cupcake fan though. Anything that is full of calories tastes yummy :)

It's quite the toss up, but I have to choose cookies, but preferably frosted sugar cookies

      • Joan4 7 years ago

I would love either one right now with my coffee! But have to admit I have eaten and made more cookies than cupcakes.

      • Dianne Loomos 7 years ago

Cookies Rule! Cupcakes are flashy, yes, but cookies are just so darn tasty! Especially a fresh-baked chocolate chip cookie with walnuts. I'm off to see if I have any chocolate chips...

      • tandemonimom lm 7 years ago

Sorry, Brenda, I'm a cookie girl. That's just the way the cookie crumbles!

You Do Not Have To Decide Between Cupcakes and Cookies

What you need then is a good cookbook with both like The Weekend Baker.

The Weekend Baker is one of the best combination cookbooks available through Amazon. It is rated 5 stars by the Amazon customers and includes "irresistible recipes, simple techniques and stress free strategies for busy people." The author, Abigail Johnson Dodge, defines the weekend baker as anyone who loves to bake but does not because they feel it is too time consuming...or for any busy cook!

Amazon Customer Reviewer Lisa Ruge says, "After taking a long haitus from baking because of a busy work schedule, I suddenly found myself with a long-term houseguest who has a decided sweet-tooth, and this book has been a godsend! I have been baking cookies and brownies and cakes galore, to rave reviews: my husband and our guest have declared me a bloody genius! Everything I've tried has come out exactly as promised. Abigail Dodge's reassuring, conversational style is so refreshing, and she made me realize that I don't need huge blocks of time and a bunch of gadgets to get great results. I actually like to bake again. Thank you, Abigail!"

What a fun lens, Brenda! I would have to admit that it is a very close race with me...cupcakes nudge out cookies but only by a tiny little bite. Off to nominate this for a Summer Sunshine Award!

I thought it was a sad day when our public school started forbidding parents from bringing cupcakes to classroom parties but rather just healthy stuff. I think a cupcake is very healthy both physically and emotionally. I have such fond memories of classroom parties with brightly sprinkled cupcakes. Great debate for a great charity. This lens will be featured on Squidoo's Summer Sunshine Award Nominees
