Dessert shooter cookbooks

Updated on April 3, 2013

Get some inspiration for your own mini desserts with the best dessert shooter cookbooks

Dessert shooters, mini desserts served in very small glasses (usually from 2 to 5 ounces), are all the rage these days and finding inspiration to create your own tempting recipes is only as far away as the best dessert shooter cookbooks.

Any dessert can be adapted into a mini dessert in shot glasses - all it takes is a bit of imagination and creativity.

I've been making dessert shooters for 5 years now - ever since my now 95 year old Mom, Gertie, came to live with me after my Dad died. She always requested "just a taste of something sweet" so I was off and running with new ideas about keeping her satisfied. But, after awhile, I was running out of ideas. That's how I got into the world of mini dessert cookbooks, the very best of which are documented in this Squidoo article. Come along and see what I found.

Petite Sweets: Bite-Size Desserts to Satisfy Every Sweet Tooth - The perfect dessert shooter cookbook

Unlike other mini dessert cookbooks that might detail dessert shooter recipes found in restaurants, such as Applebee's or TGIFs, Petite Sweet offers real homemade mini dessert recipes for everything from cobblers, to cakes and pies. You will probably need to pick up some special supplies though to recreate the delicious recipes included in Petite Sweets - things such as mini cupcake pans or 1 ounce ramekins. Don't worry though, these types of supplies are located right below.

Items you might need to create your own dessert shooters

As mentioned above, you might need to add some specialized supplies to your kitchen in order to create mini desserts found in dessert shooter cookbooks. The below are just a few items to get you started. Remember to think small!

I love the idea of dessert shooters. That way you can have your sweets but it's sort of prepackaged so you don't overindulge :)

I predict that before too long, you'll be publishing your own dessert shooters recipe book. Be sure to include a chapter on converting other recipes to dessert shooters and a chapter on finding vintage one-of-a-kind serving pieces for the dessert shooters.
