Easy Oven Sweet Potato Fries

Updated on August 2, 2014

If you like sweet potatoes and French fries, then you will LOVE Sweet Potato Fries. This oven recipe is so easy and if you line the baking sheet with aluminum foil, there is no clean-up!

Sometimes I like to add a sprinkle of cinnamon to my fries and if you like things spicy, add a light dusting of ground red pepper.

Serving Size

Serves: 2

Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet potatoes
  • 2 tbls olive or vegetable oil
  • salt
  • pepper
  • chili powder
  • garlic powder
  • ground red pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400F. Slice sweet potatoes (with skin on) into 8 wedges. Place wedges and oil into a zipper bag and shake until coated. Transfer wedges onto a medium baking sheet and sprinkle with remaining ingredients and red pepper, if desired. Bake for 30 minutes or until fries start to brown and get crispy.

Yummy! Thanks for the recipe. I love sweet potato fries but have never made my own. This sounds so easy.

Sounds good. I'm not a fan of sweet potatoes, but don't see why the same recipe wouldn't work for regular potato wedges cooked in the oven. I'll give it a try!

We tried this before finding your recipe. Ours weren't crispy, so I'll have to try again but follow your recommendations.

Yum! Do those ever look good. I love sweet potato fries, but have never tried to make my own. Now that I see how easy it is, I will try it.
