The Best Easy Tiramisu Recipe - A Tasty Tiramisu Recipe For Coffee Lovers Everywhere

Updated on August 13, 2014

My Quick And Easy Tiramisu Recipe

This is a great, easy recipe for the classic Italian dessert Tiramisu.

This tiramisu recipe is easy to make, it takes about 20 minutes, and, though the purists may scoff, I can honestly say that I have never given this tiramisu to anyone (who likes strong coffee puds!) who didn't love it.

I've been making this easy version of tiramisu for over 10 years now and it's a big family favourite with many a fan thinking it's better than the classic version of tiramisu. Give it a go; you won't be sorry!

What is Tiramisu?

Tiramisu is a traditional Italian layered dessert made by dipping sponge fingers in coffee and covering with a whipped mixture of egg yolks and mascarpone, and flavored with a coffee liquor and cocoa.

My Tiramisu recipe is a wonderfully flavored version of the traditional Italian Tiramisu without the work!

Try it, you won't be disappointed!

Ingredients Needed To Make 6 to 8 Servings Of This Easy Tiramisu Dessert

Everything you will need to make this simple tiramisu

  • 500g Mascarpone cheese
  • ¼ small carton ready-made custard
  • 1tbsp Caster sugar
  • 5 capfuls of Tia Maria / Kahlua
  • 150ml whipped double cream
  • ½ mug strong black coffee. - if you use instant, make it with about 4 heaped teaspoons, otherwise Espresso.
  • Around ½ pack of sponge fingers / boudoir biscuits
  • Coco powder or grated dark chocolate to decorate

How To Make Up The Easy Tiramisu Recipe

Make the coffee, add 3 capfuls of Tia Maria and set aside to cool

Put the cheese in a large bowl and soften with a wooden spoon. Add the custard, sugar and 2 caps of Tia Maria and mix together.

Gently fold in the cream with a metal spoon

Dip half the biscuits in the cool coffee and cover the bottom of a trifle dish.Spread half the cheese mixture on top. Repeat another layer with the dipped biscuits and finish with a layer of cheese mixture. Rough the top with a fork and dust with the coco powder.

Ideally, make this easy tiramasu recipe the day before you need it and keep refridgerated for the flavours to develop.

My son loves tiramisu, but I have never made it myself. I will have to give your recipe a try to surprise him the next time he is home. I hope I can find the ingredients. I am not familiar with several of them, but if they are available here, I will find them!
