El Sombrero Restaurant Otherwise Known as The Hat

Updated on October 30, 2012

My Favorite Local Restaurant is El Sombrero

We have a local restaurant that serves the best salsa on the planet.

One of my favorite local restaurants is El Sombrero, otherwise known to some of the locals around here as "The Hat."

El Sombrero serves authentic Mexican cuisine with plenty of spice. My absolute favorite thing is their salsa. It's loaded with cilantro, onions, and spices.

If you like it spicy kick it up a notch and try their hot salsa, with bits of hot peppers and a bit of a bite.

Both are fabulous!

El Sombrero Is Located In Southwest Ohio

They have 2 locations:

El Sombrero Troy

1700 N County Rd. 25A

(937)339-2100

El Sombrero Piqua

1274 East Ash St.

(937)778-2100

Nachos El Sombrero

El Sombrero Serves Authentic Mexican Cuisine

Some of my menu favorites include:

Tacos El Carbon~ With your choice of meat, 3 spicy soft tacos soaked in salsa, this is truly my favorite meal.

Nachos El Sombrero~ A loaded nacho with everything but the kitchen sink. They don't go light on the toppings, and you can add your choice of meat.

They also have endless combinations of tacos, burritos, taquitos, Mexican pizzas, quesadillas, chimichangas, and enchiladas.

If you're looking for more traditional fare you can grab a steak or a cheese burger.

There's Nothing Better Than El Sombrero's Salsa!

Did You Know....

You can buy El Sombrero's famous salsa in a container to go? I get a container full almost every time we go in there, and it's usually gone by the next day.

Grab a container of salsa, and a bag of their chips to go to help control your El Sombrero salsa cravings!

The Kids Menu

My son loves El Sombrero. They have a fairly large kids menu, including some Mexican favorites like tacos, burritos, Mexican pizzas, and mini quesadillas. All served with a side of rice and beans.

If your child isn't as crazy for spicy food as you are they can opt for more traditional fare, like chicken fingers, or a grilled cheese, served with a side of French fries.

You can also go for the Amigo Combo which includes a mini cheese quesadilla, one cheese stick, one chicken finger, and fries for a little of both worlds.

On Sundays the little amigos get to eat for $1.95, and on Mondays their meals are free with an adult purchase.

The Atmosphere

El Sombrero's walls are painted with several fabulous wall murals.
