Flavoured Whipped Cream Recipe Ideas

Updated on July 4, 2013

Flavoured Wipped Cream Recipes

Easy flavoured whipped cream recipe ideas. Where ever you go, you will find out that whipped cream is one of the most common toppings for most coffee drinks. And it doesn't really matter whether they are cold or hot.

And most probably you like it very much on your coffee too, don't you? But maybe you are just using the pre-made one from the nearest local grocery store?

Many people think that making your own whipped cream is too difficult, specially if you want to add different kind of flavor every time. But the actually it is just the opposite.

Keep everything cold

Before you start making this delicious topping for deserts, you should put your cream, bowl and beaters in the fridge. The key to success is to have everything cold.

This way the process will be faster and you will achieve the maximum volume possible. Just make sure you don't over-beat as you will end up with butter!

Another thing to remember is to always use heavy cream. It is important to have somewhere between 35 and 40% of butterfat. If less, it won't double the volume.

Get a new mixer

You will definitely need one to get the best results.

Recipe ideas

Making flavored cream starts the same way as making regular one. Place the cream in your bowl and start beating with your whisk until peaks are starting to form.

Now it is time to add extra ingredients.

One of my favorites is Maple whipped cream. All you will need is two cups of tablespoon maple syrup and one quarter teaspoon of vanilla extract. Get the Grade B syrup.

Another great idea is to make Cinnamon Spice. When you are done beating and soft peaks are starting to form, try adding two spoons of sugar, one spoon of cinnamon and on quarter spoon of nutmeg.

Cream Chargers Recipes

The easy way to get whipping!

We've been inspired by the cookbook "Beyond Whipped Cream over at the Cheeky Monkey - it starts with the most simple whipped cream ideas and goes all the way through to fantastical molecular cuisine ideas - they're all based upon the idea that you'll be making your whipped cream the easy way - with cream chargers, rather than the manual whipping technique, but I emailed them to ask if it would be possible without the cream chargers and they said yes for the most part, but not for some of the more complex "gel" based recipes (I thought I'd do another lens for those anyway) - so go and check out the recipe book and if you try any of them then please add a comment below to let us know how it went. I always add a touch of gelatine this along with the cream charger helps the cream to hold its shape for longer. But then I think of myself as a molecular chef!!!

I add a coffee to a whipper then use cream charges to dispense it â it works like a sort of café frappe â and you can even melt a bit of ice cream into the body of the whipped cream dispenser!

Caramel whipped cream â what a great idea â Iâve got a real sweet tooth and a blob of whipped cream onto some toffee ice cream would be great.

It floats best if you use nitrous oxide so that the cream is lighter.

Cinnamon sounds good and so does maple. Simple, plain vanilla is probably my favorite whipped cream. Yum!
