Eating veggies and fruits keeps us healthier with vital nutrients because they are nutrient dense.  And some of them helps prevent cancer.

I wrote about the health benefits here ...

If you want motivation for eating vegetables, watch the video the in the article in which Dr. Ellen Hughes was so motivated by the data she found that she tripled here vegetable consumption.

I would eat more vegetables if they were stir-fry, I'll tell you what.

Fruits, I love fruit. I could eat fruit all day.

If you blended a bunch of fruits and veggies and put them in a glass, then blended your alternative meal and put it in a glass, you will probably drink the fruits and veggies.

I try to picture this when eating unhealthy meals.  It doesn't always help but it does enough to make me eat a bit healthier.

In my case, it was learning how to prepare and cook the vegetables properly.  I really had no problem eating fruit raw or otherwise.  For example, growing up my parents tried to make me eat spinach.  They only served canned spinach which smelled/tasted like garbage to me, literally.  After I grew up, I found out fresh spinach tasted good, both raw and cooked.  So I have been trying other veggies.

    I am a pure vegetarian so....its not a problem.
Fruits....i just love them and can live on them
So no external encouragement is required so far.

Thanks, all!  I love my veggies, but I want to find ways to encourage others, mainly kids, to eat more veggies.  Smoothies are a good option.

I have been slowly changing my diet to include more fruits and veggies. I have been accustomed to eating and cooking tacos, burritos, sandwiches, spaghetti, enchiladas, and many others. I am encouraged to make the switch because I am tired of reading food labels that have ingredients with scientific names and are a paragraph long. Personally I love salads, all root veggies, and many other fruits and veggies. I end up cooking two meals because my boyfriend doesn't like veggies or meatless dishes. His son has also been conditioned by society and his grandparents to eat packaged foods. Good question.

You are so right about the conditioning from society!  How can we impact that positively?
