How do you explain measuring spoons to kindergarteners?
I am writing a lesson plan that includes a step the teacher explains how to use measuring spoons.
HI Kenna. I'd relate it to the food, saying something like "we want our meals to be tasty when cooking, and to do that we need the right amount of each ingredient. These spoons help us get that."
Bringing a set of measuring spoons and showing their different sizes can further help teach the idea.
Explain the importance why measurements matter, scraping level (not heaping or rounded) and following the directions. I'm not sure what you mean exactly, how to use them, numbers, sizes? There is a really good measurement chart on a lens of mine, How to make simple appetizers hub if it helps

How to use them in general. It up to me to write it. I was given the assignment. Thank you for the suggestions.
You could tell them the different measure makes sure the amounts of the food needed make the food like the recipe was made to taste like. and show them what happens you measure correctly and what happens when you don't. Show them the different measurement spoons and what they mean. Let them measure and taste the food after it's made. Use the back of a butter knife to show them how to level the measure so it's accurate and tell them why you do that. I hope this helps you.

When you cook do you use exact measurements or do you "eyeball it"I'm really bad about using measuring cups/spoons. Cooking comes naturally to me and I rarely if ever follow a recipe as is and I almost always just add ingredients by looking at them. How about you? Do you cook...

Some people think that zero is nothing. I know for a fact that zero represents "cannot count". Because we create units and assign numbers to them. that is why zero=infinity.Numbers are abstracts that allow us to measure whatever it is we like to measure. Zero is just a...
