Australia Day Gluten free Pavlova

Easy Gluten free Pavlova Recipe for Celebrations or Holidays


6 large egg whites

1 and a 1/2 cups caster sugar

3 Tablespoons gluten free cornflour sifted 3 times

Vanilla essence for flavouring

250 ml bottle of Cream

2 cups Berries

Heat oven to 140 degrees celcius

Whisk egg whites until peaks form

Slowly add sugar a little at a time

Beat until mixture is thick, then add the vanilla

Slowly add the sifted cornflour

Put the mixture in the centre of a prepared tray

Bake for an hour and 15 minutes roughly

Allow to cool in the oven for about half hour or so

Serve with whipped cream and berries

Is the Pavlova Australian or New Zealand?

The Pavlova appears to be named so due to a famous Russian ballet dancer called Anna Pavlova that visited both Australia and New Zealand. The dessert is believed to have been created in her honour. The creation of this dessert has been an argument between Australia and New Zealand ever since. It is usually served during celebrations and holidays.

Australians usually eat this dessert on Australia Day which falls on January 26th.

      Looks delicious. I love how you've included info about the great Kiwi-Aussie pavlova debate. I'm half Kiwi so I side with NZ on this one : )

      This is an interesting recipe. I suggest you use the Recipe module, and use the intro module for a nice big photo and an introduction to the recipe. Also, remember to change the module title.
