How to Make Grilled BBQ Chicken Tenderloins
Grilled BBQ chicken tenderloins are great for cookouts, every day dinners or for making BBQ chicken sandwiches. Chicken tenderloins are a great alternative to using whole chicken breast because they cook quicker, are the perfect size for finger foods and stay nice and juicy when grilled.
Grilled BBQ chicken tenderloins take around 20 minutes to make from start to finish. Best of all they only require two ingredients, chicken and BBQ sauce.

BBQ Sauce of Your Choice -
Sweet Baby Rays is my favorite BBQ sauce for grilling. It's thick, sweet and has a little bit of kick from the crushed black pepper.

Prepare the Grill
Preheat the grill to medium-low. If you are using a charcoal grill you will want to start the coals prior to preparing the chicken as they will need to burn down for lower temperatures.

Prepare the Chicken
Rinse and drain chicken tenderloins just prior to placing on the grill. Cover and set them out about 20 minutes prior to grilling if possible. This will allow them to get near room temperature so that they cook more evenly.
Never leave chicken out of the fridge for extended periods of time or expose to heat. Doing so can cause salmonella or E.Coli.
Grilled BBQ Chicken Tenderloins Step #3 - Grill the Chicken
Place chicken tenderloins on a clean, preheated grill grate. Leave space in between each piece to insure even temperatures. Cook on the first side 4 to 5 minutes. The top will still be slightly pink but the bottoms will be nice and white. Don't cook them much longer than 5 minutes because you will turn them back to this side again shortly to BBQ them.

BBQ the Chicken
Turn the chicken tenders so that the cooked side is up and the pink side is now down. As soon as your turn them place a thick layer of BBQ sauce on top. This will allow the BBQ to thicken and 'stick' to the chicken while the other side cooks. Cook another 5 minutes and turn.

After turning, BBQ the other side. The BBQ on the bottom will now begin to cook and may drip. That is normal. Avoid sliding the BBQ chicken tenderloins across the grate or it will scrape off the BBQ sauce. If you need to rearrange them over the heat do so using tongs to pick them up and set them back down gently.
Allow them to cook 3 to 5 minutes until the BBQ on the bottom thickens to your preference. Flip one more time and grill 2 to 3 minutes until the BBQ on that side begins to chicken.

Plate and Serve
Once the BBQ has reached your desired consistency take them up. Allow them to cool 3 to5 5 minutes and then serve. Serve with sides or on a bun for a delicious BBQ sandwich!
