Updated on September 23, 2013

How to Grill LOBSTER TAILS

Grilling lobster tails at home is so simple. It's also a lot less expensive than eating a lobster dinner at a restaurant. This lens will take you step-by-step on how to grill lobster tails. This is a fun, tasty lens with an all lobster theme that includes lobster recipes, videos and products.

What You Will Need To Grill Lobster Tails

What you need to grill lobster tails:

Grill

Lobster tails (3-8 ounces each)

Skewers

Seasoning of your choice

1/2 Stick melted butter or margarine for dipping the cooked lobster in (optional)

Thawed, Uncooked Lobster Tails

How To Grill Lobster Directions

Directions for Grilling Lobster:

1. If the lobster tail is frozen, thaw it in cold water for about 30-40 minutes.

2. Turn the grill on med-high heat.

3. Use scissors to cut the lobster's underside soft shell lengthwise.

4. Peel back the underside soft shell of the lobster tail and pour melted butter or margarine over the lobster meat (see photo).

5. Season the lobster with your favorite seasonings.

6. Place a skewer through the meat of the lobster tail.

7. Transfer the lobster to the grill. Place the lobster on the grill with the hard shell side down.

8. Grill the lobster tail for 8 minutes on the hard shell side.

9. Flip the lobster tail over and cook for 5 minutes.

10. Remove the lobster tail from grill and remove the skewer.

11. Using a cloth, hold the lobster tail in one hand and with the other hand use tongs or a fork to pull the meat out of the shell.

Optional:

1. Melt 1/2 stick of butter or margarine. Cut the lobster meat in piece and dip in butter before each bite. Yum!

Or

2. Cut the lobster in small pieces. Place the pieces in a flour tortilla. Spoon melted butter over the lobster. Roll the tortilla up....and enjoy!

What an agonising decision to choose between your grilled lobster tails or your lobster martini. I am sure I could never decide and would have to try both. Blessings and congratulations for being featured in the Summer Foods selection.

Grilling lobster tails is an excellent method for cooking these tasty crustaceans. The skewers are a great tip for keeping the lobster tails straight, and double as handles for handling the tails. Very well done!

Despite a raging hunger now, I enjoyed the lens. Here in Florida we get the Spiny Lobster which is only good for the tail but what I grew up on. To my 98 year old grandmother, who was born in Key West, they're still "Crawfish"! :)
