Homemade Cinnamon Rolls

Can you just smell the Cinnamon Sweetness Now?

You don't buy your Cinnamon Rolls from the refrigerated section at the store do you? Tell me you don't. Ok I am guilty too - I buy them from the store on occasion, but there is nothing better than baking up your own Fresh Homemade Cinnamon Rolls. Not only do they taste great the smell in your home as they are baking in the oven is FABULOUS.

So let me share with you the SWEET Cinnamon Roll Recipe I use so you can bake up a batch of your very own.

Ingredients for the Rolls - Makes Approx 24

  • 5 Cups of Flour
  • 1 Package of Yellow Cake Mix
  • 2 Packages of Quick Dry Yeast (.25 Ounce)
  • 2 1/2 Cups Warm Water
  • 1/4 Cup Butter - Melted
  • 1/2 Cup of Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

Ingredients for the Frosting

  • 6 Tablespoons of Butter - Softened
  • 3 Cups of Confectioners Sugar
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoons of Vanilla
  • 2 Tablespoons of Milk

Directions for the Rolls

Lets get Baking

In Mixing Bowl Combine 4 Cups of Flour, Dry Cake Mix, Yeast and Warm Water until Smooth.

Add in enough of the remaining Flour to form a Soft Dough.

Turn onto a lightly Floured Surface - Knead until Smooth - Maybe about 5 Minutes or so.

Place into a Greased Bowl turning once to Grease the Top.

Cover and let rise until it Doubles - about 45 Minutes.

Punch Dough Down and then turn onto a lightly Floured Surface and divide it in half.

Roll each half into a 14' x 10" Rectangle.

Brush with Butter and Sprinkle with Cinnamon and Sugar.

Then Roll it up Jelly Roll Style starting with the Long Side.

Cut it into 12 Slices and place each slice into Medium Sized Paper Liners on a Baking Tray.

Cover and let Rise until they have Doubled in Size - About 20 Minutes.

Preheat Oven to 400 Degrees

Bake at 400 Degrees for about 20 minutes or until Golden Brown and let cool for about 20 minutes before Frosting.

Directions for the Frosting

Almost Time to Eat

In Mixing Bowl cream together the Butter, Confectioners Sugar and Vanilla.

Add enough Milk to achieve desired consistency.

Now Frost Those Warm Roll and Enjoy !!!!
