How To Make Square Shaped Eggs

Updated on December 5, 2014

I have to say that I love a new gadget, especially in the kitchen, one which solves a problem, saves me time or simply is just plain fun to use!

When I read about the Egg Cuber, or Egg-Q-Ber, I immediately thought "I just have to have one of these!" It's fun and has been a real talking point, especially when someone sees a square egg for the first time and is baffled by its shape!

I'm not sure how convinced my friends were when I said that there was a particular breed of hens which laid square shaped eggs, but what other explanation could there be. :-)

When you think about it, eggs are not the most practical shape are they? But with this gadget I would no longer have the problem of my round egg not fitting my square sandwich properly, or rolling around on my plate or in my lunch box, I could simply turn it into a cube and solve these age old problems!

It's surprisingly easy to make a square shaped egg too. All you have to do is hard boil your egg, peel it, then pop your egg into the jar, screw down the lid and a minute later you have a lovely cube shaped egg!

The kids will love it and probably insist on having square boiled eggs in their lunch box

Everyone will want their own egg cuber! They are quirky, whacky, pointless, unusual, fun and they make neat gifts for home cooks and gadget geeks!

The only drawback is that you might want more than one, but they are cheap enough to buy and small enough to store easily.

The Egg Q Ber is also available in the UK from Amazon

See what you can do with your square shaped eggs!

What a great fun idea, and even if making devilled-eggs isn't it so much better if they don't roll around. I love this idea.
