How to Make Sticky Chicken

Juicy Tender Chicken

Have you heard of the famous Sticky Chicken before? Tasty and Tender chicken that is sure to put a smile on your face. I can certainly say that it is in the top 3 of my favourite foods. If you have not tried it why not give it a try? You really have nothing to loose, the chicken recipe below will also have other foods and extras to go with it if you are stuck and unsure what to make it with.

You never know, you might like it so much that you eat it at least every 2 weeks and then you decide to pass it down to your children and so the tradition continues. :) Well at least that is what I am going to do because I love it so much.

  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 1 packet of brown onion soup
  • 2 cans of Coke
  • 10 - 15 mushrooms (depending on the amount you want)


  1. 1] Grease an oven tray or Pyrax dish
  2. 2] Slice the mushrooms and fry in a frying pan on medium heat
  3. 3] Preheat the oven to 180°
  4. 4] In a bowl, mix the brown onion soup, sliced mushrooms and Coke together
  5. 5] Place the drumsticks in your greased oven dish
  6. 6] Pour the mixed ingredients over the drumsticks
  7. 7] Place in oven and cook for 1 - 1 1/2 hours or until golden brown
  8. 8] Pour left over gravy into a gravy dish to serve over the rice

Prep Time: 2 minutes

Total Time: 20 - 25 minutes

Serves: 4

Basmati rice

  • 2 cups of basmati rice
  • 4 cups of water
  • A pinch of salt
  • Frozen peas and corn
  • 1 onion
  • 1 table spoon of oil


  1. 1] Add together in a large microwave dish
  2. 2] Place in microwave and cook for 15 - 20 minutes
  3. 3] Place the frozen peas and corn into a glass dish and cover with hot water
  4. 4] Place in the microwave for 10 minutes
  5. 5] Chop the onion and fry in frying pan on medium heat with oil
  6. 6] Once rice is complete, add the peas, corn and onion
  • Prep time: 5 min
  • Cook time: 10 min
  • Ready in: 15 min
  • Yields: 4


  • 2 carrots
  • Broccoli
  • Couliflower


  1. 1] Chop up vegatables as desired and place in a steamer, don't forget to add water
  2. 2] Steam for 10 - 15 minutes
  3. 3] Add your own vegatables if they were not mentioned

Side Salad

  • 1 onion
  • 3 tomatos
  • 1/2 a cup of vinager
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar


  1. 1] Chop the tomatos and the onion
  2. 2] Add to a glass bowl
  3. 3] Add the sugar and vinager and mix it together
  4. 4] Leave it in the fridge while the chicken is cooking

Compatible beverage

A sweet red or white wine will go perfectly together with this dish. Either red or rose' will be a good choice but anything you want is good too.
