Moms special Kichidi

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 medium size onion, finely chopped
  • 3-4 green chillis, split the chillies vertically
  • 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 6 cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4-5 cardamom pods
  • one fist mint leaves
  • water according to measurement
  • salt according to taste
  • 2 cups masoor dal
  • 2 cups raw rice

preparation

1. we have to wash rice and dal in equal proportions and keep it aside

2.keep everything ready

3.now take a wok and keep it on stove on low flame

4.add oil let it to heat next add chopped onion and chilies let them to saute

5.next add ginger garlic paste and cook it till raw smell disappears

6.next add cloves,cinnamon,cardamom pods and let them to saute

7.next add water according to measurement let it to boil

8.next add washed rice and dal.

9.next add salt and taste it it should be slightly saltier

10.next add mint leaves and allow it to cooks

11.we should over cook kichidi on lowflame.
