What I Like About My Keurig B40 Elite

Although the word "love" is bandied about quite a bit for a kitchen appliance, I can say that I am quite fond of this version of the Keurig coffee brewer.

After receiving the Keurig as a Christmas gift from my daughter, my wife and I set our drip style coffee maker aside and started enjoying some flavorful coffee that rivals that of the expensive stuff you can get at Starbucks or Duncan Donuts.

One of the features I like best is that this model has a third cup size option as compared to most of the models which only have 2 sizes to choose from.

Keurig Coffee Makers Provide Great Features

Another great feature of the Keurig is the separate coffee filter adapter. This accessory allows you to brew your favorite coffee grind that you may have decided you can't live without. Just swap out the existing K-cup holder, load up with a scoop or 2 of your favorite blend, and you are on your way. Having compared the difference in taste compared to our old drip style coffee maker when using the same coffee blend, I can honestly say that the taste is far superior.

What is also nice is the wide variety of flavors available. Currently, there are over 170 different grinds to choose from. The companies that offer K-cup servings is impressive, to say the least. You can choose from Maxwell House, Green Mountain, Duncan Donuts, San Francisco Bay, Tully's, Grove Square and Cafe' Express, along with organic brands for those so inclined.

If you are into a good latte or cappuccino there are a lot of options to choose from as well, along with a large variety of seasonal flavors. I am looking forward to trying out some of the pumpkin flavored coffees that are quite popular this time of year.

Simple Tips for Using the Keurig

Refilling the unit with water is a bit easier if you leave the water reservoir in place and simply remove the top and pour the water in.

You can stretch the K-cups out a bit by running them through the Keurig a second time.

What I like to do is use an over-sized coffee cup and run a K-cup through twice, selecting the smallest cup size on the machine.

You still get a strong cup of joe doing this, and it helps save a bit of money and lessen your environmental footprint to a small degree.
