McDonalds vs Burger King

Updated on August 29, 2017

Which one is the better fast food restaurant?

McDonalds and Burger King are two of the biggest international fast food chains in the world. They both specialize in serving signature items like hamburgers, french fries, soda, and milkshakes, although other choices like salad and desserts are offered as well.

This page is dedicated to deciding which restaurant chain is better, and why. I'd love to hear your opinion, so feel free to join in the McDonalds versus Burger King discussion below and share your thoughts. McD's or BK, which one has better food?

The first restaurant of the company was opened in San Bernardino, California in 1940 by two McDonald's brothers who practically invented fast food. These days McDonald's is found in 119 countries and serves over 58 million people a day. They mostly sell hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, French fries, soft drinks and desserts. In response to criticism about their menu, McDonald's also started offering more healthy choices like various salads.

Burger King

Burger King was founded in Jacksonville, Florida in 1953. The company changed hands four times since then, and is currently owned by 3G Capital. It is the second largest hamburger fast food chain after McDonald's by number of restaurants worldwide. Burger King offers a variety of hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, and salads, and is known for their signature Whopper sandwich. Outside US, BK franchises often offer localized versions of their products, such as Whopper Teriyaki in Japan.

Personally, I prefer Burger King. Their burgers are just better but McDonalds has better fries. Against the two though, Checkers wins out with the 2 for $3 deal.

I think it's a tossup. They both have items that are good. Nice lens!

I just cannot choose between the two. Both Burger King and Mcdonalds have their good qualities and unique style of tossing out an amazing array of fast food. I'll have to check them both out again I guess...maybe that will help me decide ;)

I have to say McDonalds, although I don't often eat there, I do prefer it over Burger King...although I can't say why. I wrote a lens on a great fast food-ish place called Chipotle. I think it trumps both (although McDonalds is definitely more iconic). Check it out:
