Delicious Homemade Cinnamon or Caramel Rolls

These Are Delicious On A Cold Weekend Morning!

Imagine waking your family to the smell of these on a crispy Autumn morning! They're easy to make, especially if you have the dough on hand in the freezer.

This is a great project for kids in the kitchen because they can help roll out the dough and put the filling on it, then roll into cinnamon rolls. It's a little messy and fun... in other words, perfect for your junior chef!

Reduce the calories if you wish by using Splenda or another sugar substitute. Add raisins and cinnamon, or turn these into a gooey melted caramel fantasy. It's up to you!

  • 1 recipe Sheila's Lazarus Rolls Dough (see link)
  • Butter or Margarine
  • White Sugar or Splenda
  • Brown Sugar or Splenda
  • Raisins (optional)
  • Cinnamon (optional)
  • Prepared Cream Cheese Or Vanilla Frosting (Optional)
  • Chopped Pecans (optional)


  1. Roll out sweet dough in a large rectangle. Coat very liberally with butter or margarine. Pile on sprinkled white sugar and cinnamon with optional raisins, OR brown sugar and optional pecans for caramel rolls. Roll up and cut into 2" slices. Arrange in greased pan and add a pat of butter to top of each roll. Let raise until double, then bake at 400 until golden brown, about 10-15 minutes. Frost the cinnamon version with prepared cream cheese or vanilla frosting while warm.
