Apple crisp is a very simple and delicious dessert treat but what makes it so absolutely fantastically wonderful is that it is also 'GOOD FOR YOU!'
This dessert is made with the wholesome goodness of oatmeal, apples and cinnamon, all of which have proven health benefits. It is a heart healthy food.

Deliciously nutritious apples are one of nature's sweetest gifts.
Apple Crisp Recipe: Ingredients
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup oats
- 1 cup brown sugar
- approx 4 1/2 cups apples
- Cream together the margarine and brown sugar. Add the next three ingredients and mix till crumbly.
- Pour 1/4 of this mixture in with the sliced or diced apples in a baking pan. Add the remaining crumb mixture atop the apples in the baking pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
- Cool slightly and serve with ice cream, fresh cream, whipping cream, or milk.
Variations: Blueberry, Peach, or Huckleberry Dessert Dish
The basic Crisp recipe is easily adjustable to become a different desert in just minutes. Simply substitute the apples for different fruit or fruit combination to create a different dessert for every night of the week.
Rhubarb can easily be added in with apples to create an Apple-Rhubarb Crisp.
