Orange Lamb Burgers - Not Your Typical Burger!
The goal of this lenses is to give my readers or anyone searching online a healthy low carb recipe for burgers that they can make in 20 mins or less.
If you're like me you want to eat healthy, but not take all night making it. Leaving about 10 minutes to clean-up before going to bed because you have to wake up extra early to make a healthy breakfast.
Below is a recipe that I created with the help of my brother. We have always loved to try new foods. I think you will find the recipe both easy to make and enjoyable for your palate. They are definitely a fun choice to make for friends. Especially if you don't tell them it is lamb. They will bite into them and you be able to tell they are not quite sure whether they are good or were made with some messed up meat. After you tell them it is lamb they will show a sign of relief.
Trust me these burgers are super good - but it will take some help from your meat department at your local grocery
Sooo what did I mean with that simple title? I just wanted to let all those DYI's out there to just suck it up and buy lamb pre-ground. I tired grinding my own lamb in a food processor, but all it did was waste time prepping the food and wasted a whole lot of time having to chew the burgers 20 times longer cause of the gristlyness of them ;( ( <- not sure if that was a word lol ).
Anyways just BUY GROUND LAMB!!!, instead okay.
If you can't find ground lamb at your grocery store, ask the nice meat guy to take lamb chunks and grind it for you.
So here are the ingrediants for some awesome Orange Lamb Burgers
1/4 large sweet red onion
2 cloves garlic or 1 teaspoon minced garlic if you perfer
1 LB ground lamb
1 1/2 teaspoons soy sauce ( can use less sodium if watching salt intake)
1 teaspoon ground cumin
2 teaspoons grated orange zest
2 tablespoons of orange juice
2 tablespoons of fresh chopped cilantro
pinch of salt ( if using less sodium just ignore this)
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Here are the easy cooking prep and cooking instructions
Start by either preheating your grill outside or your electric tabletop grill
Chop the red onion and garlic to a decently fine consistency in your food processor or by hand. Note that if chopped by hand a rougher chop will add texture. Then chop the fresh cilantro.
Place the chopped onion and garlic in a large mixing bowl with the ground lamb, cumin, soy sauce, orange zest, orange juice, cilantro, salt, and pepper.
With washed hands ( had to add that for all you mechanics out there ) smoosh everything together until it's all very well incorporated.
From the bowl take the mixture and form it into 4 patties, and place them on the preheated grill.
Cook Time: 7-8 minutes
Note you should only flip the patties once so flip at the half way point. For all the over zealous grillers out there use a timer so you know when to flip them.
