Tasty Pesto Hummus
Hummus with the Fresh Flavor of Pesto
My husband and I love the fresh, summery taste of basil pesto, and we like prepare it and freeze it so we can enjoy it all year long. Mixed into this tasty Pesto Hummus recipe, it makes a spread for sandwiches and wraps, a side for salads, or just as a snack with pita chips. The bright green flavor of hummus with the hints of garlic and cheese is made subtle by the combination with chickpeas and tahini.
We love it, and I hope you will too. On this page, I'll share the recipe and a few ways you can tweak the recipe to your own taste.

Some ingredients can be difficult to find in some local grocery stores, especially in rural areas like mine. Amazon.com makes it easy to order and have fresh, delicious foods at your fingertips.
I like these small tubes for this recipe and others. The tube is easy to store, and it also allows you to keep whatever pesto you don't use fresh and green for use in another dish.
Many hummus recipes are designed around one can of garbanzo beans, so these cans are the perfect size for a special batch of this or another kind of hummus. Easy!!
