Serves Eight

Vermicelli - Quarter Kg

Milk - 1 Liter

Ghee - 4 teaspoons

Cashew nuts - 8 in number split into two pieces

Raisins -12

Sugar - Quarter cup

Condensed Milk - 200 gm

Cardamom - 6 pods ground to a fine powder

Step by Step Instructions

Preparation Time - 40 minutes

Roast cashew nuts in one spoon of ghee.

Heat another spoon of ghee in low flame, add the raisins and wait till they puff up. Remove immediately from the flame.

Roast the Vermicelli in two spoons of ghee till light brown.

Bring the milk to a boil in a large cooking pan

Add the roasted Vermicelli

Keep the milk on low flame till the Vermicelli is cooked and tender.

To Note - Keep stirring or else the Vermicelli will stick to the bottom of the pan and burn.

Add the sugar

Add the milkmaid

Keep stirring

Add the cardamom powder, roasted cashews and raisins

Remove from flame and transfer to a serving bowl

Your dessert is ready to serve.

How to grind cardamom to a fine powder?

Place cardamom pods in a dry grinder. Add two spoons of sugar and grind to a fine powder. You can make this powder and store in an airtight box in the fridge for about six months.
