Sesame King Tahini

I live in the west end of Toronto here in Canada. There is a wonderful Lebanese grocery store in my neighborhood where I like to shop. There are many delicious things which can be purchased at this store for a low cost. They have a larger package of hummus than the one at the grocery store. I find this shop to be one of the most cost effective ones in my neighborhood. This is a store which sells a variety of Middle Eastern foods.

This Lebanese grocery store is where I recently purchased a jar of Tahini by the Sesame King company. This was an inexpensive purchase. I use a lot of tahini now that I am a vegan. I like to add it to many dishes as a sauce. It is a great way to add flavor to many vegetarian dishes. Most people are familiar with 2 uses of tahini. It is frequently used as a sauce for falafels. It is also frequently used as an ingredient in hummus.

This past week I have been adding a couple of tablespoons of tahini to some leftover chili. This is a way for me to have a different flavor. Leftovers can often be altered into a completely new dish by merely adding a few extra ingredients. A couple of tablespoons of tahini can really make a dish a lot more interesting.

Tahini is made out of ground sesame seeds. This tahini has nothing else added to it. They have not added any sugar or oil. There are no hidden ingredients. When you have tahini at your home it is best stored in the refrigerator. Tahini has a habit of separating. It is advised that you store tahini upside down in the refrigerator and shake it well whenever you want to use it.

I really hope you enjoy this product as much as I have. It is a great sauce to have in your cupboards. It is well worth the price. It is not very expensive. The ingredients are not very unhealthy. Tahini is high in fat, but it is the good kind. It is polyunsaturated fat. This is the same kind of fat that fish oil is. We all know that fish oil is highly beneficial. Tahini is something fairly healthy to eat.

Here are some alternative brands of tahini. I have tried any of these. They are just other options which are available for a reasonable price on Amazon.
