Smoothie Blenders That REALLY Work
Smoothie Blenders ~ The Healthy Kitchen Appliances
Smoothies are amazing concoctions!
Not only do they taste great, but they are chock full of super nutrients. Most of the smoothies available at specialty stores and fitness centers are really good for you. And it's actually fun to watch as they are created by professional smoothie blenders right in front of your eyes.
Don't you think it's a fantastic idea to be able to make your own smoothies right at home?
I did a rough calculation for the cost breakdown of the Pineapple Sunrise recipe (below). It costs me about $1.10 per 16oz smoothie. At the gym, I pay $4.00 when that smoothie is on special. Otherwise, it is $5.00.
My math skills tell me that I can cover the cost of a professional grade smoothie blender in 4-5 months if I consume 1 smoothie per day. But, more importantly, I WILL consume a smoothie every day if I have the tools to make them.
Maybe you can do this with a "normal" blender. The problem, though, is that getting all that luscious goodness into a drinkable beverage free of bits of seed, rind, and ice chunks is not as easy as pulling out your average blender and tossing in some goodies.
Oh no! And if you have tried it, you will probably agree that this is true.
A great smoothie is the product of a great smoothie blender.

Vitamix Smoothie Blender - Cancer Victim's Story
One of the reasons for being a believer in the value of a great smoothie blender is very close to my heart. My own son, in his late 20's, and the father of 4 kids, was diagnosed with Melanoma cancer. It was quite a blow to our whole family.
Let me give you the "end of the story" first. He is cancer-free for 3+ years now!
It is a story of God's provision and mercy, along with some excellent medical help. However, I believe that being proactive with a self-researched nutritional plan was also key to his recovery.
He spent hours and days and eventually made it a life-long process researching to discover how what we eat affects our well being.
As a result, he purchased a blender so he could essentially go raw during his treatment time. This was not at the advice of doctors, but it was the result of seeking the best course to follow that would give him the best chance of survival. He bought the best blender on the market, which turned out to be a Vitamix.
Now, several years after the end of treatment, he continues to use his Vitamix blender daily. He still uses many raw vegetables, fruit, seeds, and herbs to create a concoction that he drinks every morning and evening. Over all these years, the blender has performed without fail. He has replaced the blades once, but there have been no other problems.
That Vitamix blender handles any and every nut, berry, and veggie he throws at it. In fact, he has said more than once that he believes he could throw in concrete blocks and end up with a smoothie. It has that much power.
We totally give credit to God for his healing, but the doctors and the Vitamix were part of the process.

Super-smoothie ~ Pineapple Sunrise - With my Ninja Smoothie Blender
I got the idea for this smoothie at the gym. I simply love fruit smoothies, and pineapple is a gift from on high (in my humble opinion). The folks at the gym use crushed ice in place of the frozen fruit in this recipe. In fact, the flavor in the smoothies at the gym (and other specialty shops) comes mostly from the pineapple juice.
I start by freezing some of the fruit. Or, you can buy frozen fruit at your grocery store.
One banana (fresh or frozen)1 cup of frozen strawberries (about 5 strawberries)1 cup of pineapple (fresh or frozen)1/2 cup of plain almond milk1/2 cup pineapple, pineapple-orange, or pineapple-orange-banana juice1 large scoop of unflavored whey protein powder
For an extra "health kick," throw in some baby spinach or kale. It will not change the taste, but it will give you some of those valuable nutrients.
There is no need for flavoring in either the almond milk or the protein powder due to the flavor of your fresh fruit.
This recipe will yield two large tumblers of delicious smoothie. Thickness depends on how much of the fruit is frozen.
Vitamix VS Blendtec
Not only can you make super smoothies with the Blendtec Total Blender, but you can also use it to make fresh juice, milk shakes, soups, sauces, salad dressings, and even breads... and more.
"Not only did the blender perform like a dream, it makes a killer green smoothie--no taste of kale! The cost of the blender is worth it for this reason alone."
Vitamix Blender - The Cadillac
The Vitamix is an amazing tool. It is the recognized leader in blenders. It is used by many people who are serious about health drinks. You can start out with a less expensive brand, but you will end up with a Vitamix if you stick with the program.
Buying one of these machines is a life-long investment.

Vitamix and the CIA
In this case CIA is NOT the government agency responsible for covert operations and the stuff that movies are made of. Instead, it is the Culinary Institute of America, a much more practical organization when it comes to cooking and blending for your health.
Vitamix is the undeniable leader in blenders.
"So far, I am loving it! I have definitely increased my consumption of fruits and vegetables since getting it."
"Economy" Smoothie Blenders from Vitamix
This Vitamix blender has plenty of power with a motor that peaks at 2 horsepower and a full 64oz container. "I LOVE it- yes, it's tough to part with so much money for a blender, but there are things you can do with this that you can't even consider with a regular blender or food processor."
VS = Variable Speed. It gives you as much control as you need to do nearly every task the more professional models are capable of. "If you're serious about using a Vitamix, you need the variable speed (VS). And I don't mean just high and low, but 1-10, in addition to high and low."
