Bacon and Chicken

Was it the word bacon in the title of this recipe that got you here? Every time I see or hear the word bacon my mouth starts to water and I can almost smell the sweet aroma of it sizzling.

The following recipe for Bacon Wrapped Chicken Breasts is not only easy but only requires three ingredients.

Flavor from the bacon intermingling with the chicken, while baking is an absolute mouth sensation.

If you're not a big fan of turkey you may want to consider making this recipe for Thanksgiving or Christmas this year.

Alternative Ideas

For this recipe I used Montreal Chicken Spice, but if you do not have this on hand Cajun would work well, or perhaps a mixture of garlic powder and fresh ground pepper.

Side Dishes

I served the chicken alongside fresh steamed broccoli, with a side Caesar salad. The side dishes you could serve are endless.

Prep time: 10 min
Cook time: 45 min
Ready in: 55 min
Yields: 4-5 people

Ingredients

  • 5 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 10 slices of bacon (either thin or thick)
  • Montreal Chicken Spice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F.
  2. Spray a baking dish with cooking spray for easier clean up.
  3. Rinse the chicken breasts and pat dry.
  4. Season the chicken breasts with Montreal Chicken Spice. Use as much or as little as you like.
  5. Wrap two slices of bacon around each breast and place into the baking dish.
  6. Pop into the oven for 30-45 minutes or until cooked.
  7. Remove the chicken breasts from the oven, serve, and ENJOY.

Casserole Dish

This cast-iron enameled casserole dish is perfect for baking, roasting or braising.

Clean up is a breeze.

I find mine so easy to wash. Before placing food into it I simply give it a little spray with vegetable cooking oil. Once you've dished up your meal soak the dish in soapy hot water for about an hour and give it a light scrub. This casserole dish never disappoints me.

Hi Susan, I had to look it up a different way. It didn't show up on your HubPage. I made this tonight and really liked it. The only thing is I like my bacon really crispy so I had to put the temperature up to 400 and then under the broiler to crisp up the bacon. But, it was a great recipe.

Thanks for a different way to make chicken.

Yummm!!! This looks so delicious and easy too. I try to make more chicken dishes then beef, but I run out of ideas. This one looks so good, I will definitely make it and let you know how my family likes it. I have a hint they will love it. Thanks for sharing.

      Blessings to you and yours.

@HSP Connections: Have you tried the chicken or turkey bacon? Might be an option for you. Not sure of the salt content though.

Sounds yummy... and yes, "bacon" brought me here. Being on a low-sodium diet for hypertension, I miss bacon... except for special occasions.

@JoleneBelmain: A lot of people are telling me that they've never heard of Montreal Chicken Spice. I love it myself. I saw a recipe online recently that you'd posted that I can't wait to try that was made with bacon and chicken.

@Corrinna-Johnson: Maple syrup would be great as a glaze, and I'll have to try that. I often buy maple bacon that's quite delicious.
