Gift Guide: Best Kitchen Cookware Item is the Lodge Logic Chicken Fryer

Updated on November 2, 2012

Lodge Logic Cast Iron Chicken Fryer is a must have in your kitchen!!!!

The Lodge Logic Chicken Fryer is so much more versatile that using to cook up some fryer chickens. I say it's your go-to kitchen pot and pan!

Why buy this chicken fryer for yourself or some loved one? You can cook practically everything from bacon and eggs for breakfast to delicious pot roast for dinner, french toast to french fries, soups to roasting nuts! And you can cook fryer chickens (as what this name of the pan implies). But it is truly a dependable griddle, skillet, pan, grill, and pot.....all in one! And it can go straight from your stovetop into your oven (to keep a dish warm, or following a recipe...don't have to transfer out of your skillet to an oven safe's all in one!) In one work: It's very versatile!!!!

You can use it boil water for pasta, use it as a deep sauteing pan, make rice, make fried rice, sear steaks and other meats, make grill cheese sandwich, start to brown chicken and throw into the oven to continue cooking, soo very versatile.

They have 2 sizes:

1) The larger, 5-quart cast iron chicken fryer is 12 inches in diameter and 3-1/4 inches deep.

2) Whereas the smaller fryer, the 3-quart version has a 10-1/4-inch diameter and is 3 inches deep.

Both are ideal for slow-cooking meats because it comes with a nice cast iron cover that traps moisture in. Lodge Logic items usually come preseasoned with vegetable oil formula. So that it means that it is ready for immediate use

If you never have bought a cast iron kitchen cookware item before, let it be this piece (either the 3-quart or 5-quart fryer). In general,cast-iron construction in your pots and pans means that it allows heat to cook evenly

When you clean, you only need hot water. To prevent rusting, you might need to rub with some vegetable oil while the pan is still hot.

Cast iron is great for your dishes that require steady and even heat. Cast iron is also great for who need durable cookware yet has easy clean-up. The 3-quart and 5-queart chicken fryers from Lodge Logic can't be beat!

If you care for your cast iron properly, it will last forever. You only really need to scrub it with hot water only. And simply dry it with a rag. You might want to apply a thin layer of vegetable oil while the chicken fryer is still hot to prevent any rust from forming (by applying oil to your cast-iron you are re-seasoning it).

A great feature about the Fryers from Lodge Logic is that no scratches will interfere with its performance. No worries!

Another great features of these fryers is that the lid fits so nicely on the pot. There is a nice tight seal that the lids makes on the pot. The steam will escape only when the liquid is boiling hard. The interior of the lid is a bit unusual looking as it is neither flat nor smooth. It has an intriguing built in design of small cone-like protruding tips. So when steam condenses on the inside of the lid (as it will with any recipe with high heat), the resulting fluid falls along those protruding tips back into the pot (instead of dripping off the edge of the lid). No liquid escapes! Very clever design!

The only downside to cast iron is the handle can get quite hot!! You can use your oven mitts that you have already in your kitchen, or you can get some handle mitts that fit nicely on the handles of your chicken fryer. You can choose the heavy duty fabric one or silcone one.
