Updated on December 31, 2012

Yummy Potato Chips Salad

Most of us have eat salad before, right? But how many of you have try to add potato chip into your salad? I believe there are people who making this but I just made my own accidentally. It is not hard to find a recipe for salad but this one you might not have even try it before. I created this potato chips salad just by coincident.

This is how it happen, one day, I was craving for salad, so I looked into my refrigerator and I found a zucchini, 5 small radishes, a butter-head lettuce, a carrot, some alfalfa sprouts and a package of red and yellow cherry tomatoes. So, I just took them out and make them into a vege salad. Of course, it is nothing special when compare to the normal salad. But, it became so delicious when my son gave me a piece of potato chip when I was having my salad. Who will realize that a simple combination like this will make a big different on a ordinary thing.

In the picture you can find the name of the vegetable that I used in this salad, and you need to make sure all of them are fresh, or else you salad will not be nice.

When you have get all these vegetables ready, cut them into small pieces according to the size that you like, and to keep them fresh, keep them in the refrigerator after you cut them into pieces.

Ready Made Salad

If you think it is too troublesome to prepare your own salad, you can also get it here.

The Potato Chips

The potato chips salad - Ruffles potato chips

I was using the original flavor Ruffles Potato Chip where it will make the salad tastier. But just that it is a bit salty if you put too much of the potato chip, it is better to remove the salt before consume it with the salad unless you are fine with the salty taste.

Time to Enjoy!

Interesting lens but the idea of crisps ( as we call them in the UK) with salad is fairly common. Many eating establishments will for instance, serve sandwhiches with salad for accompaniment, including crisps. Probably grew from the adding of crisps to table buffets so the kids would eat something.

A very nice read though, thanks for sharing the story.

      Thanks for the

What a happy accident you and your son created with your potato chip salad! I would guess other flavored chips would be good to, like dill pickle or ranch potato chips....time to experiment, I love how you tell your story!

Now I know how to get some picky eaters to enjoy salad - add potato chips. It's a little bit like a taco salad, but not so spicy!
