Delicious strawberry recipes

Doesn't everyone love strawberries? I've never known anyone who doesn't like them. But I've known plenty of people who absolutely adore them.

At certain times of year, they are incredibly cheap and I'm always looking for new recipes to use them.

So what we have here is a growing collection. I always associate them with the summer months - when I was growing up in England, we had many friends and neighbours who grew them in their gardens so there was an almost constant supply in the warmer months.

My mum was excellent at finding delicious ways to use them, although just as they are with a dollop of cream was certainly one of my favourites. (Or ice cream, just to make lovey change).

But let's be more adventurous than that, shall we? There are so many lovely ways to use these gorgeous berries.

Do you have any wonderful recipes to add to this page?

If so, please leave me a message in the comments section below - let's make this a wonderful resource for 'everything strawberry'.

A new classic

This completely surprised me.

I'd heard that there was such a thing as a strawberry pie made using 7-Up. I found a recipe but it used ingredients that I don't generally have in the house.

So I decided to make a lighter, healthier version.

It's very, very tasty with the bonus of being very quick and easy to make.

Quick & easy pudding

This is very good indeed and it's based on a dish my mum used to make. It's easy and it's also inexpensive. It's adaptable too because you can use any combination of berries in any proportions - just use what you have to hand. When strawberries are more expensive, use cheaper berries to make them go further.

See step by step instructions.

No-cook delicious tart

Another idea based on something my mum used to make. This is an incredibly easy to prepare tart (especially if you use ready-prepared pastry cases). I serve this with lots of fresh strawberries piled on top with cream or with ice cream.

If you don't have pastry cases - or want to have fewer calories - serve in glasses on its own.

Tropical fruit

MSchindel was inspired to create this luscious salad using the tropical fruits she'd been served whilst on vacation in Jamaica (lucky girl).

But we can all enjoy a little tropical luxury in our meals with this delightful and easy to make, healthy recipe.

See how easy it is.

A lovely combination

What a wonderful recipe this is - with a tremendous story behind it too. (Somehow, these stories make the recipes so much more special and interesting.) It's a lovely combination of chicken and delicious fruit - low calorie, healthy and remarkably tasty. Click on the link below to see the full instructions. Wonderful. Thanks to LynnKK..

I love to add strawberries to a salad in the summertime. Another favorite is with shortcake and whipped cream. However, the BEST way to eat strawberries is straight from the patch! :)

WOW, a great lens for us strawberry lovers, and I'm sure it will only get better with additions from other lensmasters. Thanks for including my three recipes too. I like the way to keep strawberries and to hull them, and the recipes for the 7-up Strawberry pie, pudding, and the no-cook tart. There are so many glorious ways to use these beauties! YUM!

Who doesn't love sweet, juicy strawberries (except those who are allergic to them)? Wonderful idea!
