Coconut Burfi ( Kobri Mithai)

1/4 kg Sugar

1 coconut

5 gms Cardamom Powder

10 gms Ghee


  1. Grate the coconut and roast it in a pan till the raw smell disappears. Add sugar and a few drops of water( do not pour too much water).The sugar will melt and will blend with the grated coconut. Keep stirring on a low flame. After 5 minutes pour the ghee on the coconut and sugar and add cardamom powder. Do not allow the mixture to harden.
  2. When all the ingredients have blended well and the mixture starts to thicken, pour it on a tray smeared with ghee.Spread the mixture and flatten and cut into desired shapes.( Sugar can be substituted with jaggery).
