Treat Yourself With Lipton's Gallon Size Tea Bags
Lipton's is one of the best teas in the world, period. And this gallon size tea bag brings back a lot of good memories. My mother loved to brew tea in the summer and when these bags were plentiful in stores it just took one bag, boiling water in a safe pitcher (please don't use something that could melt or shatter) and we had freshly brewed tea in five to six minutes.
Why did we love the gallon bags so much? Have you ever sat there with cup-sized tea bags, opened them, strung them together in groups of four, then strung four groups together to make a giant thing to put in your pitcher? Half the tags come off or worse still, hide in the pitcher to wait on unsuspecting drinkers and it is a hassle.
Taking them out is a messy, wet adventure best left unmentioned. With one bag, you use one bag. You get twenty four bags, so even if you drink lots of iced tea like we did and I still do that should last you a month or so. But you do have to know how to treat tea so here are some tips:
Use brewed tea in three days. Tea will go skunky just like beer. Three days is you best bet for the freshest tasting tea.
Natural is best. Are you getting tea or a chemical cocktail in those gallon jugs? Read your label to find out.
You can add other flavors to brewed tea! Fresh mint, basil, lemon or lime all work well with Lipton iced tea.
Freeze tea in an ice cube tray. This cool cubes will prevent watered down tea.
Don't brew too long! Brewing tea too long can lead to an overly bitter taste a lot of tea drinkers just don't enjoy.
Make sure you're using a gallon pitcher for best results. That's four quarts. Too small and the taste will be overpowering, too big and it will be watered down.
Did you know? Cup to cup, tea has half the caffeine of coffee.
Did you know? The Thomas J Lipton Co opened in 1893 in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Yes, I'm well aware this wasn't made by Lipton's, but a fresh cuppa makes a refreshing change in my daily routine.
Lipton tea commercials are mini movies and they are really different for countries around the world. Enjoy!
