Change your diet, change your life with the Vitamix Professional Series Blender
I'll admit it - I was a bit peeved when John walked in with this very expensive Vitamix Professional Series Blender - make that very peeved. I'm not a fan of any item that does just one thing - I have coffee pots galore, I now have 2 crock pots, I have kitchen blenders, blender sticks, etc. And, I only have so much room in my kitchen!
So, when John walked in with 'just one more thing', I about blew my stack. My first question was 'Why?' I have blenders, etc. John immediately set into his sales man pitch of 'The Vitamix isn't just a blender', etc. I could almost hear the Costco girl's spiel coming out of his mouth. I still wasn't sold. Ah, but the proof would soon be in the pudding - um, soup.
John set about making the first round of soup in the thing. It not only blends to perfection, but, it also heats the ingredients up while it's doing it. The result? Two bowls of incredibly piping hot broccoli and cheese soup that would rival the best in any restaurant I've ever had. After showing me how easy the Vitamix was to work and, more importantly, to clean up, I was (mostly) sold.
The next hurdle I had to conquer was what I saw as a totally ridiculous price for the thing - I mean, really, is there a blender alive that's worth over $400? Um, yep, there is and it's sitting proudly in my kitchen at this very moment. The Vitamix is so powerful that, in just seconds, I can make my own oat flour for those dog treats my dogs love, I can make orange juice with the FULL orange - that's right, it will pulverize the skin and all. I did discover that I have to add a bit of water to the mix though as when blending the peel into the juice, it's too thick without the H20.
So, if you're looking for a very special present for someone who loves to bake (yep, you ca even make bread in the thing - well, the bread dough at least), and you have fairly deep pockets, get to it. You won't be sorry you invested in the Vitamix Professional Series Blender.
This is the beginner edition of the Vitamix. Still a great blender!
I have this Ninja too - it's way cheaper (call it 1/5 the price!) and makes a good smoothie.
