Find the perfect wine picnic basket for a romantic getaway

For our one year anniversary my fiance decided to surprise me with a romantic picnic. It was so sweet, romantic and fun that I'll never forget it.

We took a short walk to a grassy field, set out a comfy blanket and then busted out the wine picnic basket...with yummy goodies included! You can't go wrong with wine, cheese, fruit and finger foods.

My man really made me feel special and I always look fondly on this special moment. I'm here to tell you that a wine picnic is so much fun and can be a perfect plan for either a romantic getaway or a fun gathering with friends.

Since this moment, my man and I go on picnics regularly. I'm here to give you some recommendations and tips on how to have an awesome picnic. Just don't forget the wine!

My Romantic Picnic

This picture you see above was our view from our picnic spot. Beautiful huh? And yes, there are many places in northern Arizona that look like that!

The best wine picnic basket for two - well I think its the best anyway!

You can totally picture yourself carrying this basket right? Its stylish, classy and fits a lot!

Take wine, cheese, fruits and more with you for the ultimate picnic party. The insulated lining really keeps the wine and any foods nice and cool.

The basket itself is really great quality but just keep in mind that a lot of the included accessories aren't super amazing like the basket itself. But I was OK with that because the most important thing for me is that the basket was durable, sturdy and functional.

We've used this basket many times since our initial picnic but we might replace some of the accessories soon.

Oh and keep in mind that the basket does NOT come with wine. You have to buy that yourself...but who doesn't love shopping for wine?

I think this basket is a great value for the money. You can of course buy a more expensive one, even from the same manufacturer, Picnic Time, but this has worked great for us.

Picnic Time Verona Insulated Wine Basket with Wine/Cheese Service for Two, Pine Green

I love the look of this wine picnic basket - the barrel shape is very different and has a very masculine but romantic feel to it.

You can get this basket with either a pine green or red clay colored lining.

The interior of the basket is lined and insulated.

And you get some great extras to complete your wine and cheese party! This basket comes with wine glasses, cutting board and more wine and cheese accessories!

Wine and cheese pairings - perfect for a picnic!

I love wine, cheese and picnics. So put them together and you have love at first bite!

Cheese is a great food to take with you on your picnic because its easy to prep and carry in an insulated picnic basket. And if you get the wine pairing right...its a delicious treat. Don't forget the crackers!

If you're on a romantic picnic you can feed each other some bite sized pieces of cheese while you sip wine and enjoy the outdoors. Ahhhh, so dreamy.

So I've included my favorite wine and cheese pairings to make your picnic extra tasty!

Cheese with Wine

Brie with Chardonnay

Cheddar with Cabernet Sauvignon

Gouda with Merlot

Gorgonzola with Port

Mozzarella with Sauvignon Blanc

Camembert with Champagne

Great picnic food

When I go on a picnic I like to keep it simple. I bring wine, water, cheese, crackers, salami and fruit. Sometimes I'll even get fancy and bring along finger sandwiches - I know, I know...how do I ever find the time?

For fruit I usually like to bring grapes, strawberries, cherries or watermelon.

Since I'm not that creative when it comes to food I'm going to point you to some resources of great foods to bring to your picnic.

Our picnics were almost always spur of the moment and unplanned so anything went - but the children always loved it.

I like picnic's, but have never had a romantic one.

Maybe I should plan one in December for our 54th wedding anniversary.

Thanks for sharing with us, it's a interesting idea.

I love picnics! Do it anytime we can, sometimes we prepare a big salad and some cheese and fruit, then bike to the beach (7 minutes by bike) or the park. We picnic on family trips, we picnic as quality-lovebird time, we meet friends in the park for a huge picnic, we even picnic in bed. (2 weeks ago I had the flu and my bonuschild prepared a great picnic for all of us in bed LOL)

When my children were young sometimes I would load the picnic into the back of our pickup and join some other moms & kids and have a picnic over the water at a swimming pond.

Really nice lens, and actually I love picnics. It is the best thing on the world to eat outside, calm down a little bit and just enjoy fresh air, good food and people with you. If you want you can check my lens https://hubpages.com/relationships/how-to-a-romant... also about picnics.
