I give their relationship 6 weeks!  Looks aren't everything and Cleggy the Wonderboy has already proved that he'll whore himself to any new game in town.  Call Me Dave just might get his little blue heart broken!

He even has that same vacant look on his face that cockerels do!

Apparently he has being trying to undermine the 1922 Committee of Tory backbenchers, by insisting that frontbenchers should be allowed to join.  As the 1922 Committee exists to deabate and act as a check on Tory frontbench policy, this is an attack on democracy within his own party.

He is already turning into another Gordon - nobody allowed to criticise, nobody allowed to hold different views, and in the complete overturning of the party manifesto they campaigned on during the election campaign, a total contempt for the views of the people who voted him into power.

As an analogy, if I went into the shop to buy a tin of baked beans and when I got home it turned out to be peas I would be very irritated. Now millions of Tory voters have voted for a Tory manifesto and found that they have in fact bought a tin of Liberal Democrats. If they had wanted to vote Liberal Democrat they could have just cut out the middle man

The SP on their relationship - we'll have to wait to see who next slips a fiver into Cleggy's g-string and woos him on to better things.

Don't suppose that many Tory voters thought that they would end up with Clegg as Deputy PM!

should be interesting to watch! they're quite young also.
at least (for now) they sound like they may want to make things work, unlike across the big pond.

It'll all end in tears. Even if Clegg and Cameron get on (which won't be for long) their squabbling broods of back benchers certainly won't.

There's a will to succeed, and a big economic mountain to climb. I say give the boys a chance. They might just pull it off.

It would be nice if they did. That would bury the Labour Party for ever.

I think that my prediction of their bliss lasting 6 weeks might have been a tad optimistic, with the Lib Dems calling the Tories children and weak negotiators and saying that they handed them everything they asked for and more in the papers today.  Plus the Tory right-wingers and the Tory voters are beginning to rumble that they have been had, and that Call me Dave is now showing his colours as being slightly to the left of Trotsky.

However, it will make for an interesting summer, and you can be sure that it will run and run. Wouldn't be surprised if we get a right-wing break away in the Tory party.
