What Obama (or his ghost writer) actually wrote in "The Audacity of Hope" [pg. 2

“Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”

Shout out to all Obama defenders.  He did not use the specific word Muslim.  Nope.  He just mentioned two of the largest Muslim groups there are and tied that mention to 9/11.  Then he did a little fanning of the flames of racism with a dash of profiling by mentioning Japanese internment, then he further builds on their fears by implying their citizenship may not hold water like yours or mine, then he states that he will stand with them if things get ugly.

So I guess you’re right.  He was only holding true to form.  Now that things have turned in an ugly direction he’s doing exactly as he said he would.  He’s standing up for the Mexico against Arizona, he’s standing up for everyone against Israel, Iran, North Korea or SEIU (whom he said he’d never turn his back on). He’s standing up with China against Arizona.  He’s standing up for Europe against America.  He’s has taken a stand against those he governs.  He's chosen his vacation against the Memorial Day ceremonies at Arlington Cemetary honoring our fallen.

The only time this President shows any humility is when he bows to a foreign dignitary.

(and please don't tell me that he didn't bow, he was only checking out the carpet or his shoestring or something like that)

Why don't you pick something more easily a detriment to the Obama presidency rather than the reaching to make a point out of a non issue.  Is Obama black and does he relate more easily with minorities because of it?

I think you can understand that.  But this constant dribble about how Un-American he is or that he did not cover his heart or wear a pin or whatever little thing you want to dream up is a plain waste of time.

Pick on glaring things like he smoked dope or he wasted a lot of his childhood being about nothing.  The health care bill that did little to bring down costs for the middle class or he ran the national debt up to help out Wall Street.

If personal attacks are all you have then you miss the what can be the greater good of changing the minds of people who voted for him.

Now if the Republican party can give us a better choice other than Palin or Romney or goofy Gingrich then we may be able to make a change that might mean something.

You have to stop repeating after these idiots like Beck and Limbaugh who only are in it for the money.  The more outrageous things they say they get better ratings and work the idiots who follow them into a froth.

Why bother with this? The left doesn't care and the right is already aware. I don't think anyone is on the fence about our President. They either voted for him and are committed to his ideas or they voted for him thinking he was something other than what he's proven to be. Any "hope" for something different in Washington has been rinsed clean by the cold clear water of reality.

I'm sure there are still people who are on the fence.  A lot of people pay zero attention until election season.  Then they turn on the TV.  This is why there is so much money thrown at campaign ads.

I'm sure there are few people here that are on the fence.  They either support Obama or they don't.

But in the end there are two types of immigration.

    Legal
    Illegal

The media makes it hard for people to understand what is going on because they like to get both sides riled up with inaccuracies so they can sell advertising.

Did you fish your copy of his book out of the garbage?  big_smile

I don't have time for a full response as I am on my lunch break, but if you're trying to salvage your integrity, it's too late.

By the way, Obama will be speaking at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery near Chicago on Memorial Day.  According to the Washington Post, he is not the first president to choose to be somewhere else on Memorial Day.  The list includes Reagan, and both Bushes.  Bush Sr. didn't go at all.  Of course, whatever source told you Obama would be on vacation probably didn't mention that.

I'm with Rhamson on this.  Find something important to criticize, and barring that, at least find something factual to say.

Will Tobey ever cease in his/her stupidity?

How pathetic can a person be?

I rest my case.  I make no bones of the fact I despise Obama and his blind followers.  I believe he's a sneak, a liar, an embarrassment to this country, a socialist and a subversive.  I don't like Brittney Spears either.  Or Jerry Lewis, Faith Hill or the Osmonds.  Yep, I'm stupid.  I believe actions, not this clowns words.

You're not stupid. Everybody is free to believe what they want. And it happens that I agree with you about Obama.

You are stupid if you put forward false information....  The boy crying wolf who's stupidity destroys him..

If you can't tell the truth, or can't discern between truth and fiction....it is probably best that you don't run around flapping your lips...  You may have the freedom to speak...but it is those without intellect who do so with recklessness and disregard for the ultimate outcome..

It's about time somebody stood up to Israel and took the side of the disenfranchised!@

You "might makes right" people have run this country down to the ground.

It's because you can't accknowledge that that you point the poison arrow at Obama.

That's what Dr. Chris thinks. (PHD in the school of hard knocks)
