What do you think of the squad below? I was surprised to see Walcott left out and perhaps feel sorry for Dawson who has been in great form - other than that I'm not overly suprised.

It'll be itneresting to see which goalkeeper starts!

Goalkeepers: Joe Hart, David James, Robert Green.
Defenders: Jamie Carragher, Ashley Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Glen Johnson, Ledley King, John Terry, Matthew Upson, Stephen Warnock
Midfielders: Gareth Barry, Michael Carrick, Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Shaun Wright-Phillips.
Forwards: Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Emile Heskey, Wayne Rooney

I was also surprised that Walcott was left out but I think its a fair decision based on the season. Although in that case I think Adam Johnson should be ahead of Wright-Philips. Also right back will be a disaster area should Glen Johnson get injured. Gary or Phil Neville should be in there as cover. The squad is full of players who are either injured or injury prone, which has to be a concern.

Yes the injury aspect is a problem - 100% fit it's a decent squad - but the key is staying fit! I was surprised Dawson wasn't picked either - thought Capello picked people on form not reputation!

I guess he knows a little more than me, and when Emgland lift the cup on July 11, he can tell everyone else that he knew what he was doing!!! The press will have a field day with his selections - now, and even more so if he doesn't get beyond the QF!

I think every manager says they will only pick on form to keep players on their toes - I'm sure Rio was really worried about his place!

The problem for managers is that only one of them can say at the end 'I knew what I was doing'. The rest look like fools. It's not that enviable really is it?

I just hope that even if England don't get to the Semis that they keep Capello on - he's the best thing that's happened to them recently and I could see him building a world beating team eventually...

It's not really much of a surprise is it. The squad I mean. We don't have a good enough squad to win, but I'm interested to see how far we can get. In terms of goalkeepers I reckon David James will start, he has the most experience and I think in a goalie thats wat u gotta go with first.

I think that the team is good... but they are still going to lose to the USA in the first game!
They did lose their really good captain...

It's a solid lineup, can go a long way in the Cup. However, Ferdinand got injured. I think Gerrard will be captain now.
