Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canucks tomorrow and Happy Fourth of July to my US friends on Sunday.
Canada became a separate country from Britain in 1867 and the British North America Act was signed (our constitution). It used to be called Dominion Day.
However, the Queen is still the Queen of Canada.
Did you kick some Limey butts like we did or did they just get tired of you?
It was a compromise I guess since we kept the Queen
The only war we had was the War of 1812 where we kicked some Yankee butt, but I guess we were still British then
I dunno, it was Victoria at that time. I bet they were glad to get her off the Island occassionally.
Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian friends.
As a side note, my ex and my adult children and their spouses are in Canada today, probably waving the beautiful Maple Leaf flag at the parade they are attending. I've attended many of those myself in years gone by.
Happy Canada Day to all Canadians!
Happy Fourth of July to all Americans .
Sorry UW I missed your thread otherwise I would not have started one too.
Happy Canada day to you and to all the hubland Canucks.
and a
Happy 4th of July to you all south of the border on Sunday.
Hello my fellow Canadian hubbers, whether you're new to Canada or if you've always been. Happy Canada Day!!
And an equally happy upcoming 4th-O-July to all my fellow American hubbers, although I suppose the actual day off is Monday. Cheers
P.S. We're just as proud to be Canadians as you are to be Americans. We just don't shout about it as loudly, I guess.
