That's approx 1.5 million + per yr. (if my math is correct)
What does the future hold for the next generation of children?
If you respond, pls explain why you think as you do.

You didn't give specifics of how they die. Disease, neglect, murder, or accidental.  I personally think at least in America, people have put the idea in their childrens head that, they are allowed to do anything without consequence. Children are less respectful to their elders and others. As opposed to thirty years ago, when children were expected to behave.

So as far as future generations I feel they will have lack of respect for anyone.  Making it a much nastier place.  I believe there are some who still try to teach their children right. But not as many.

As for the death rate of children that will probably rise as well. As many of todays youth who do have babies, or will in the future, do not or will not take the time to nurture them. There are more grandparents raising children, then ever before.

Sad. Really. But no one seems to care.

Hi Diane:  "You didn't give specifics of how they die."
The number of reasons would be to great to list, I made a broad statement backed up by research.
Regardless of the reason, as human population increases, the problems of contemporary cultures and societies will become more complex and deadly than they exist today.
Your thinking is too narrow. Expand it to include all nations of the world, their internal strifes and gov'ts, + the myriad other potentials that are too numerous to list.
Thanks for the comment and you explanation....:-)

      Hi

More than what people think about kids dying, I would consider "why" populations actually die. Of course, kids dying is just purely dramatic, but what can you do as a single human being? Moving to africa? Give your salary to a NGO working in the field?

Considering the "why" suggests many issues as you formulated above. Illness, lack of food etc... So as far as the future is concerned, I guess the condiion of millions of kids essentially depend on how the international community intends to adress the international food crisis, poverty and all these factors...

...the world doesn't seem to be responding well.
You'd think that criminal organizations, like the catholic vatican which is worth billions and claims to be "christian," would divy up more.
Of course, if those children were allowed to live, world population would be increased by the number of their deaths each year, and we can't have that with human population increasing to the point of idiocy. So, what the hell, let 'em go.
This seems to be the attitude of those who make the decisions on this planet i.e. the controlling 1 - 2%.
There really is no choice. Most of these deaths are happening in 3rd world countries where the level of ignorance soars and education is a rarity.
During the next 2 generations, the numbers will swell geometrically as human population reaches close to 10 billion.
Humans are "replaceable." they are like "kleenex," pull one out, use it and another pops up to take its place.
We exist as an immature, primitive life form and are headed for disaster.

Don't worry about the kids. They will leave with all the believers at the time of the rapture.
You'll miss 'em like crazy, but at least they won't be part of the "hell on earth" that will follow.

Yes - lets not worry about kids dying, they are all a different colour anyway, and most of them won't be kristians I guess, and they should actually not be whimpering in pain and fear but laughing joyously; and their parents should be happy as they bury them.

But at least you are honest about your belifs and the monstrous consequences of them.

This from an unoriginal sanctimonious atheist who lives in a country that restricts families to one child and forces abortions.  What a surprise roll

What is surprising about caring more about kids than some mythical never seen or heard super being ?

Attacking me because I live in China is pathetic but it does display your lack of argument.

You really don't find the irony of living happily in a country that allowed and even forced abortions and had a policy of restricting families to one child forcing families to abondon newborn females and then declaring someone else uncaring about the death of other children?

            Really?

            lol

And you are way too sensitive.  It wasn't an attack it was a comment on your hypocrisy.

I have no problem living in a country where a foetus is a foetus and treated as such - I have no problem with abortion.

I am also happy to support the one child policy here - that you know absolutely nothing about apparently - I would recommend it for other countries also - especially America.

The issues surronding the effects of the one child policy in a country where over half the population were still illiterate and poor do not occur any more - in fact children male or female are in high demand for adoption.  The huge advances in education mean that there are almost no illiterate people left  under the age of 40.

China treats its children as national treasure, they are given every advantage and child abuse is almost unheard of - certainly in the cities where I can see for myself what happens.

Knowing that many children die of starvation and diseases that we in the US have vaccines for, I will say that afew years ago I believe the US had the resources to feed all the hungry children in the world. Greed has taken over common decency.

The morals of the world has fallen and it is a dog eat dog world.  With no moral guidance, the future is very bleak for our children.
